Pre 97 design vs Todays

In my opinion the 92-97 F150s were the best looking.
Still looked like trucks but with class.
Todays are nice and take to appearance mods real well ( especially lowering) but I think Ford lost the husky truck look in 97

Of course I own a 93 but have been looking at 2002s and am not as enthused as I was in 93

I have said for 5 years now that, IMHO, the 97 and newer F-150's look too "feminine" for my tastes. I agree that the "92 - 96 look" was the best the F-150 ever had. Then again, I am biased too, but the looks are the main reason I keep my 95, and have not bought a 97 or newer.

Take care,
-Chris

HAHA

Yup,feminine looking is the best way to describe them...I like the newer f250 and 350 but the f150 just looks all round/goofy/and feminine...if your girlfriend says it looks cute...DON'T GET IT!!...almost just as bad as seeing a guy driving a new beetle LOL

Just staying with the trend... I own a 1995 F-150 and I like it's style more than the new ones.

Come see my truck @ http://65.31.225.239 !!!

I have no choice... I'm smitten by the '88-'91 trucks.

My '91 is the best looking truck on the road, except maybe for the SuperDuty duallies with trailer tow mirrors... and even those don't look good unless they're the XL trim... (That big chrome grille uglies up the front end of the new SuperDuty trucks.)

Yep, the 97+ look feminine. When they first came out I thought that place on the bodies where they curved inward as it went down, then swooped back out looked like a skirt-a womens skirt.

The SuperDuty is tough looking. But did you notice the new Dodge 1/2 tons look alot like the 97+ Fords. What are they seeing that I'm not?

I'll stick with my 93 and the pushrod engine.

I also agree with you guys. Unless you throw a 6" lift on a newer F-150, it just doesn't look like it's built "Ford tough"! Personally I like how all the F-Series trucks look from 1973-1996. Of course, if they're bone stock with pizza-cutter tires, 2 wheel drive, faded paint and a rotten camper shell, then they look just as ugly as the next truck, but in decent condition, 4x4, with any kind of lift and meaty tires and you've got yourself one bad-*** looking rig! But if you're talking just plain stock, no lift or tires, or other mods., then I would have to say the '92-'96 crop look the best, even though I own a '90. That's probably because I rarely see a '91 or older truck in stock condition that isn't battered and beat half to death. I guess that shows you that people who drive Fords are serious about the way they use their trucks!

All I can say is when the 97's first came out I didn't like the looks of them very much but the looks grew on me and well I bought one in 99 a 2000 modle but I have to say some of the best looking FORD trucks from the past are 92-96 trucks and the 80-86 style trucks but as far as todays trucks the FORDS are still better looking than anything from GM or Dodge I've always thought that the FORD trucks have looked better than the other brands going all the way back to day one.

Although it feels like it sometimes, I wasn't around for day one, but I still agree with you.

Take care,

Great survey !! All the negative comments about the latest body style coming from people who own earlier models; WHO'D OF THUNK THAT? I have a 1998 Supra. At meets, the previous generation guys always say the exact same thing. Between them coming by/drooling/gawking, 20 or 30 guys come by and ask me if they can buy it. Just playing, skip the flames.
