Nice Rig Jon!

Ford4ever,
Donate54 and I were wondering if you have had any alignment issues with your Rough Country lift kit? Are you chewin' up tires or is it acceptable wear?

I love the look of the new F-250's, but the F-150's just went full-blown "Girl Truck" in '97. I don't drool at them, I giggle.

Take care,
-Chris

Geez!! You older model guys are rough~
I had a 95 flareside it was a beautiful truck looked tuff as hell
only thing is it was a dark purple?? but it had 5% tint all the way around 32x11.50 BFG A/t's and a fiberglass bed cover Ill admit it was tougher lookin" than my 97 but my 97 looks 100% better IMO the sleek body style and smooth curves with the flareside bed not too girlish if ya ask me! But no one asked me so ill keep out of it!

The reason I love the pre-97 body style so much is the shape of the front end. For some reason it just doesn't seem right looking out the windshield of a truck and seeing the hood disappear with a VW bug inspired curve. I like the to see the whole hood, spread out before me flat, like the dinner table. The squared angles throughout the truck look right. I even owned a 97 for 2 years and it never grew on me like I had hoped.

Inski21: Actually it's a Superlift lift kit (rough country steering stabilizer). No alignment issues. After i lifted it she pulled pretty bad and you could look at the front of the truck and see the toe was out. I took it to an alignment shop (this was before i worked at a dealer so i didn't have access to a machine i could use), the shop had no idea how to set up the machine for a different ride height. I ended up aligning it in my driveway with a tape measure, some string and a piece of chalk. It doesn't pull and after about 15,000 miles the super swampers are wearing perfectly evenly, although they do have less than half their tread left.

I've taken it offroading and the only thing i have broken is an OEM Ford leaf spring shackle. The superlift parts are incredibly strong. I love this truck, right now i am building a 351W engine for it, i just ordered a Holley Commander 950 digital, stand alone fuel injection system for it, i can't wait to get the new engine in. Not that theres anything wrong with the old I6, i just need a few hundred more horsepower!

Agree about looking out and seeing the hood where it is supposed to be

My wifes 2002 RAMQC is even worse than the Fords .

Takes some getting used to.

Like getting back in my 93 and seeing that big laid out hood

I don't think the newwer ones look "girly", but I do like the older models a bit more. I think they look more agressive and more like work trucks. I love my 96 and wouldn't trade it for another F150 on the road right now. I do like the superduties though. They look agessive and downright bad@$$! I want to get one of those, and it will probably be my next pickup.

In response to tim_1911 "I like the to see the whole hood, spread out before me flat, like the dinner table."I totaly think what you said was funny as hell but now everytime I get behind the wheel of my 96 f150 I can't stop thinking I'm driving a table..atleast it better then driving a girly mans truck like newer f150 or a dodge... nice truck Ford4ever

well guys i own a 89 f150, i agree that the nose on the 92 -96 model is nicer. I can change mine and i will when i get a good deal on a relatively clean nose. the parts from 80 - 96 (body parts) are all interchangable.beds, doors, noses, even cabs.

i also own a supercrew and i have to say that i like the older ones a little better but the 97 + models are classier. more car like. ride a hellova lot better. i know i bought a truck not a car but i don't drive it everyday she does.
i think the older one just look tougher, more aggressive and if you put a lift, meats, a little more torgue and hp it will be a bad *** truck.

the new 250's are just mean looking though if you put a lift and tires and rims. that is my next truck. the new 250. i have it all planned. i need 4,000 just for mods when i get it off the lot. curt

I like the 92-96 F-150s, but I think ford should of put bigger tires on them from the factory, and the front end always seems to "low" when there stock. I don't mind the 97+ f-150 but i don't really consider them a "work truck"

I think the best looking truck on the road today is the new superduty's. They look real mean with a little lift and some bigger tires. I may be purchasing one for my other work truck this fall.

Curt,

What all would you need to change the nose of say, a '90 F-150 to a '92-'96 style? Just the fenders, hood, grill, lights, and bumper? I've always like the nose of the 92's better, but everything else on the 90's, including the interior believe it or not. Maybe I can have the best of both worlds-- a 92 nose on a 90 pickup! Any info would be appreciated!

Agreed about the new Superduty's. Very tough looking truck. That would be my next truck if I had anything to pull or a bigger garage. I'm really hoping the 2003/2004 F150 will look more like Superduty. That plus a 300hp 5.4 3V would get me interested in a new truck in a hurry. Now I've got to shake the money tree real hard between now and then.

Yeah
I agree with all you guys on the F250
Looks like a TRUCK should
Wish they would make the F150 that way, I really don't need a 250

yeah its that easy. it bolts right up. the wiper panel might be off like a 1/2 inchbut the rest fits real good. its only like fifteen bolts to the whole nose. not sure it's been a while since my days of changing noses. you can change the fenders and the hood and the bumper but i have never done that. it was always easier to me just to change the nose. there is a little banging and giggling you may have to do. i put a 91 nose on a 85 flatbed recently and had to bende some metal for it to bolt up. its not hard if you are mechanically inclined and can see things happening.

Cool

Since no one else will speak up for them I'll have to cast my vote for the 88-91 style. I like the smaller side marker lights. If kept in good shape they look classy when driving around.

Also, I think that the grill and lights are the only difference between the 88-91 and the 92-96 right? From the driver's seat the view should be the same.
