I've swapped buckets with benches and the other way round from Jeeps to Blazers to Fords. Just need a drill and at most a welder with some eazy brackets.

Umm, you could fit a SBC with a different tranny, mounts, harness, controls, ect, but why?

its a computerized pickup, it's gonna be expensive no matter what you do. if anything find a used 351 and tear it down, clean it up and run it. Cheapest, and most effective for the 150's in that era.

Did you not just read what we had just told you... If you wanted a chevy you should have bought a chevy. you would need to an entire wiring loom, brackets, motor and tranny swap, and alot of cash spent just to get it to RUN.

So why would you ask the same question over when we gave an answer?

What is your budget for this build?

Lol! Putting in a SBC was even an option when trying to be on a budget?

ok no preformance chip, they are worthless on vehicles. headers and exhaust will eat up most of that 800.

Ya gots lots of learnin' to do on Ford EEC-IV EFI systems. I recommend you start to read and really understand the info at http://oldfuelinjection.com/

For sure with a budget under 1500 forced induction is out of reach. 800 is a good amount to keep handy for the basic care and feeding of a 20 year old truck.

If ctrl-alt-del tuning is all you want to play with, yer gonna need to trade trucks and move upstairs to the '97+.
