Amen to PA roads sucking. Worst roads out of any state I've been in.
Pardon my ignorance but you are doing what with the tie rod ends?

Are you going to do the tie rod flip or something?

in regards to handling on the road, mine handles not much different then my friends bronco befor he took his stabilizers off..... i litterally take a onramp at 45-50mph without any worry of it rolling... thats with a 4" lift and 33" tires.... i could see it being a issue with really soft (flexible) setups.... but.. even so most onramps shouldnt be taken at 45-50mph.... =p

im starting to find quite a few ext cabs with 5.8's as im branching my search into the carolinas but thats a ride for me. A few days ago I drove 2 hours and found thee truck in awful condition, 600k on the dash (I was told 170), a 5.0 engine (i was told it had a 5.8) check engine light going and I was told the rear fuel pump didnt work only the front tank did (which prior to that I was told absolutely nothing wrong but a lil rust) so that was a succesful trip lol

any one have a clue how much I can pull or buy an auto tranny for a truck with a 5.8?
thanks guys

Theres a couple places around here that charge no more than 100 for any transmission. One is pull it yourself type deal, the other I'm not sure about.
I can't believe you're having such trouble finding one, there are dozens and dozens around here.
Not saying you should drive this far, but these are the first two that came up, newest ones, and just happen the be the 5.8 and auto. http://classifieds.pennswoods.net/cl...dindex=1137815

One says it's already lifted, the other appears to be lifted but doesn't say.

as of right now I have my 2000 f150, which I plan on selling eventually as Im saving up for a diesel, don;t want to kick the crap out of that when I get it so I been planning to buy one of these older f150's to build it up and off road....... as of now 4 grand isn't possible for me (part of the reason im having trouble finding a 351 im sure)...

Looking at 2 more trucks soon, one of which the guy is pretty clueless about. He believes it is the 302 in there and he doesn't know if its fuel injected or if it is a carb... but the truck is in nice condition so im going to take a look and see what I find

Id like to get a 351 but a regeared 302 should be able to pull 35's through the mud fine shouldn't it? Beastly you have the regeared 6 cyl and thats moving 38s in the mud well, the engines have about the same torque.......
