Top Speed
Alright, I'm new to this board but I'm not going to be blunt.
MLH, You're a dumbass. I have a '94 F150 with a 5.8 (351) in it and it tops out at about 95-100, and the engine is screaming, it wouldn't get much more with the governer off of it. I'd say 105-110. So there is no way in gods creation that you are even going to come close to 145+ miles an hour.
Oh and by the way, being heavier does not make you faster. How many fat men do you see running in the olympics.
Se ya.
P.S. I'd stop comming up with new things to point out, because its just sound retarded.

351W: on a much more interesting and realistic note, how did the install of the TFS intake go on your 351? What did you have to do with the throttle/cruise control cables to adapt them to the TB your running? 65 or 70mm I presume.. Did you keep the EGR and coolant lines to the intake? Just curious, I'm thinking of adapting a Mustang intake to my 93 5.0 and don't know if its worth the trouble.. You can email me if you'd like.

mattmcdill,
I haven't been to a track. But my friend and I did time it with a stop watch on a long flat road in the country. 0-60 time was about 9.5 seconds. I've read on reviews that they will pull 9.1, and that might, but I don't know for sure be with an automatic.
Hard to get real good times becuase of the tire spin. Sorry no quarter mile times. I'm guessing they aren't real good though.

mattmcdill,
The truck is not actually mine. It is my moms, she lets me borrow it. I'm still a high school student (junior). Just had to clear that up so it doesn't look like I actually own it.
But anyways, its a '94 F-150 4x4 Supercab with a short bed. It has the 351 in it, and has a E4OD automatic transmission. It is completely stock except for a seat cover and a cup holder. And of course a bed liner. It has 31x10.5 BFGoodrich Mud Terrains on it also.
The times were taken before the new bigger tires were put on.

I have a '92 F-150 4x4 reg cab that is basically all stock. I got 115 out of it. That was after my electronic rev limited konked out. Before that top speed was 105mph. It has a 302 in it also. Now my friend has a 1990 mustang 5 spd, 302 hopped up, and it can only hit 140 mph. Hmmm this car is less than 3200lbs and has alot more power than my 302 in my pickup.
I did have an '85 F-150 4x4 with a 351 and some goodies that hit 128mph, once...
If you really got a ticket going 135 scan it an post it, or are you just full of ****?

geez..... for the brief period of time I had the twin Garret T3 turbos on my truck, I hit 142 MPH verified via my trusty GPS. This was EXTREMELY scarey, and took all of 3 lanes to stay straight. 145 in a 4wd???? I'm leaning towards IMPOSSIBLE

Ford uses a PSOM(Programmable speedometer odometer Module). It is part of the instrument cluster. The PSOM takes the analog signal from the ABS speed sensor and converts it to a digital signal and supplies the digital signal to the PCM(Powertrain control Module). When the PCM senses a vehicle speed of approximately 118 MPH it cuts out half of the cylinders. Removing the fuse to the speedometer removed the power to the PSOM and no signal to the PCM. Ford has been having a big problem with the PSOM. The Analog to digital converter in the PSOM does not like to work with it is cold.
since we are on the topic, i am now curious. How fast will a 97 and up f150 go with the superchip installed. had an argument with at friend about wether my 97 xtd. cab 4x4 would go faster than my 78 chevy impala with a 305. both wiegh about the same and both are stock save the chip and a kn filter in the truck and an open air filter on the impala. i think the impala would blow it out of the water based on teh speeds and power that i have experienced in each. thoughts?
This should be a close one. The pollution on the impalla if it is still working will not let the 305 develop much power. I would wager that the 4.6 puts out more power. Tell me more about your 97 F-150. Automatic 4.6 or 5.4???
