actually I have , but it was a swb , with a 351 , and 2wd , and I still DO NOT beleive that you truck is worth 145 mph , it doesnt make sence that you can outrun something thast has MORE power and LESS weight , thats the part I don't beleive , i have driven many vehicles to top speeds , trucks- a 91 chevy 454ss , with of course a 454 , 255 hp , 2wd , 121 mph , so I am suposed to belive , a less powerfull ,and heavier truck will run 25 mph faster than that !

 

Oh yes the truck can Do what i say The police have clocked me with laser at these speeds I have proof that the truck does do this. Its not the question of the power but when you get a heavy truck up to speed the weight does help belive it or not.

145MPH

 

145 mph is a little hard to believe, but saying it will only run 110 is insane. I had a stock '91 F150 Reg. Cab Short Bed, 5 speed, with the 300 inline 6 that would govern out at about 115 to 120. Considering, it took a little while to reach this speed, but on flat ground it was quite accessible. My father had a '91 Mustang, 5 speed with the 5.0 and it still had plenty of b@lls at 138, although that is were it stopped. As for running that fast in a 4x4, you have to be CRAZY!!!

 

I am crazy I run From MA to PA in about 4.5hrs and it is a seven hour trip at reg speeds. The Truck hum's like a bee when i hite 145 but keeps going.

 

Only 145? My '95 302 is also a Supercab, but with an automatic.

The last time we clocked mine, I had to back off at 160. Must be the mods....

I don't believe for a second that a stocker would do 145. My truck hit the speed limiter stock, but is obviously starting to work harder as it approaches triple digits.

You should come to the next rally. I guess those Lightning guys would really be shocked when a stock 4x4 stomps them.....

 

I would have to agree with everybody else 145 seems preety high. I own a 95 with a 351 and my last truck was a 93 with the 302. Both 4x4, auto's, and 3.55 gears.

How many RPM"s are you running at that speed?

And like most poeople have stated going that speed in a 4X4

I'm pretty sure most light truck tires aren't rated for that kind of speed.

I have a 97 f250 with a 5.8. I just put on a set of trick flow heads,intake,and flat top pistons,and an E303 ford racing cam.I can outrun some of the fastest mustangs and camaros in my area,but I cant hit 145 even with a 150 horse NOS kit.bottom line is YOUR FULL OF ****!

 

If you think I am full of **** then put your money where your mouth is and come for a ride. I live in New england and will take you for the ride of your god damn life. Hell I will take you up on I-95 and have some fun.

 

The ONLY way a stock 302 is going to hit 145 is off a cliff, if it doesn't acheive terminal velocity first, which is rather likely.
