Fan Shroud Question

This may be a ridiculous question, but if I removed the fan shroud, could that possibly cause a slight overheating issue? I put in a heavy duty radiator in the winter and now my truck seems to overheat sometimes. I've replaced the fan clutch, thermostat and coolant sensor. I backflushed the system three times now, and it still overheats sometimes when I'm sitting in traffic. I can't figure it out unless it's because I took the fan shroud off and there's some air escaping from the fan. It only does it on 92 degree days or higher, which in Charlotte, NC, is most of the summer. 92 F150, 5.0, 5spd manual.

It could contribute, but still shouldn't overheat in the first place. I'd be looking to a water pump.

It was the water pump. I finally found the leak.

Water pump impellers rust away too, which lowers the coolant flow and causes some overheating issues...

a super cooling radiator shroud will fit a four core and two core radiator.

You can get them new from jeffsbroncograveyard for $90 or used at the junkyard for around $20.

You should still have a shroud.

I've been combing the junkyards looking for a shroud. It looks like I'm going to have to get a new one. The top radiator hose just barely clears the fan. I had to tie it up before I hit a speed bump and cut it in half!
