4lo i think is 55. but your dumb if you need to do 55 in 4lo. then again its probley 25 cause of the gear reduction. but 4 hi ive been 60 in the dunes. bumper then ****! haha but i wouldnt do that for too long. i was doing 40 most of the day and no problems so i would say anywhere between 40-50 and youll be fine. faster then that just use 2wd you shouldnt get stuck.

Are you asking about how fast you can go off road? Or how fast you can drive on road in 4-Hi (like in snow/ice)?

ive never drivin in snow and ice so in not an expert. but i would say not to go faster than the speed limit nor would i go faster than the conditions would allow. i know sometimes the freeway here in SD freezes over and people go off the side cause they dont know the speed limit which is 70 over there. so i would just do the limit or slower in 4hi.

The speed limit on my way to work is 65. I've had no problems going 60-65 in several inches of snow. Ice is always another story. My rule of thumb is: if I'm concerned about my speed, I slow down. Not out of concern for my transfer case...just the safety of the rest of my truck.

Anyone else know if there are posted limits to your t-case?

now that i think about since i can have a4wd that acts like 4wd when wheel slip is detected. so i would say no. since i have felt my a4wd kick in when i was doing about 75 around a turn on a freeway over pass. haha but i could be wrong with full time 4wd since a4wd is a little different.

I'll run 75-80 mph in 4hi on packed snow covered roads. Done 10 hour trips like that, no issues. If it's ice covered roads I'd be going a lot slower due to the "no stopping" issue.

I sure would like to know how you managed to do 55 in 4Lo. I do believe that would be an impossible thing to do.

Really? I think you mean 55 is the max for 4Hi, not 4Lo.

It is impossible to go 55 in 4Lo.

4Hi has no limiting speed other than the top end of the vehicle. Many people around this area drive in 4Hi all winter. Passing in 2WD on snow covered or icy roads can get a little sketchy. 4Lo on the other hand...well I think enough people have covered that scenario.
