I went there 2 or 3 years ago in April and they allowed vehicles on the beaches. I'm not sure if they do that in July though.

Besides driving out on the beaches, there isnt to many places to go, If you go inland you can find all the off roading you want.

Yeah you can drive on the beach at Oregon Inlet, Corolla, Buxton, Ocraoke. Not much for non-beach offroading though.

Carova Beach. Something like 14 miles of beach to drive on. Go north past Carolla and Carolla Light and the road will end and you'll be on the beach.

Have fun!

Carolina beach is a mess this time of year tho. I went there a couple weeks ago, they upped the price from 10 to 20 bucks for the summer i guess... I had to pull my buddy off the beach and almost got stuck myself with the 315s... I burried my truck down the in sand right next to the entrance, just trying to pull him off... had to unhook, my truck popped right out, then I backed beside my ruts, hooked up and snatched the crap out of his truck. bent his bumper, but it got him off the beach.

If you are in the wilmington area, I can tell you where to go for offroading if you're looking for mud and some deep water and and some pretty neat power line trails... PM me if you're interested in these trails... I can give you specific directions, and a guy to call if you get stuck

I will be in NC this december around the bath area. Close to washington/greenvillie. I am down to go mudding if yall want to go, got a lot of friends back home that love to go off roading, the ones that dont care about their trucks and will attempt to go through almost anything pretty fun to watch.

Brother in Law is a farmer and has i think around 7 or 8000 acres prob a litte more and i can go where i want and do what i want on it. (except ride through the crop offcourse)

I live right there by the northeastern beaches of NC and they dont charge you to get on the beach. just from kitty hawk beach south to oregon inlet your not allowed to drive on the beaches in the summer time. But I will have to say that the tourist that doesnt know how to drive on the beach really tears it up out there and its rough drivin. But all and all it a great place to drive. during spring and fall its fun to drive because your allowed to and not many people are out and you can have some good old fashion fun.

FordFan,

When do they close the beach between Kitty Hawk and the Oregon Inlet? Oregon Inlet is around Manteo?

2005Lariatky, I didnt remember it myself but i looked it up and found this website that has all the info that you need. http://www.outer-banks.nc.us/newsinfo/randr.htm

And oregon inlet and manteo is about 10 to 15 miles away from each other.
