Tow Straps

And you're almost as much of a retard for using that strap as the guy using the chain. What you have is a binding strap, not a ****** strap. Theres a HUGE difference between the 2 even though they may look the same. Chains and binding straps are made for STATIC loads, not the spike loads seen when snatching vehicles. Basically this means that if you draw up the slack and then pull steady it will live. When you take a running start at a pull, what you're pulling with needs to be able to absorb the stress temporarily, which is why ****** straps stretch like they do.
To be honest your binding strap wouldn't perform worth a crap in a real stuck situation. Being stuck in sand is barely considered being stuck anyhow. You actually want a strap that stretchs like a ****** strap because what it does is store the energy and then releases it which is what "snatches" the stuck vehicle.
I've seen half a dozen broken windshields from idiots who uses tow straps or straps with hooks. One particular one would have killed the passenger had they not been outside the truck taking pictures. I have kicked people out of our wheeling group for trying to use chains, or one even tried a come along cable

that way i dont have to loop the strap though then fight with it after it gets tight.
i had a choice between the two.
my d-ring is rated to 10,000, whats yours?

Its all good, im sure its 10,000 the same as mine maybe alitte more if its one piece.
I just like not having to fight it off. But i get what you are saying about not needing to fight it.
Mines always getting wet and stuffed with mud. So i geuss thats why it gets so tight when i loop it. Sometimes i still have to loop it to the other truck. But recently David has been pulling me out with his tractor.

This is almost the exact same set up that I use with the exception of the size of the recovery strap. I am running a little smaller recovery strap than you are but I think that I need to upgrade my strap because of the weight of my new rig.

I can find strong enough recovery straps everywhere, but where did you buy just the d-ring show in your pic? something rated for over 9000lbs safe working load, i dont want the part that hooks to my trailer hitch but instead prefer something i can put on my front tow hooks.
