the locker i had was very streetable. i grew up on a farm where we always welded the spider gears together in our farm trucks. (lincoln lockers) compared to these the powertrax was a dream. Rich

Okay, I did it. Threw down the $400 and ordered a No-Slip. Macromotive called me back to tell me that powertrax was backlogged and wouldn't have it sent for at least a week and a half. Something about waiting for the compnany they have harden the metal. *shrug* I'll be sure to post my experiences. Mayby the days of me using Gas to get over difficult objects will be over. I'm sure my truck will appreciate it

I read a post earler that there was some problem with delivery. Keep us informed. The PowerTrax web site states they use a special HARDENED TITANIUM?? I guess it needs to be strong...

I've been waiting on one of these for my '97 since before thanksgiving. Called powertrax several times and always the same story; "Should be within the next couple weeks". Beginning to wonder if they will ever get these things out the door.

On the upside I have heard nothing but good things about the units themselves.

The best prive I have found is from:

National Tire & Wheel
183 N. River Road
Wheeling, WV 26003
Phone: 304-233-7917
Phone: 800-847-3287
www.ntwonline.com

found them on the powertax page and they seem to have the best price and really cheap shipping. They even returned a phone call once! Anybody had any experiencs with them? Can only hope they eventually get the units in stock!

I have heard and experienced nothing but goodness form NTW. I have called them several times to price wheels and such and they always have good prices and customer service is not bad. As far as shipping I have heard that they do very well and ship quick usually.

Exclamation

UrbanCowboy and Levi1998,
Let us know when you finally get your locker. It kind of scares me that Levi1998 has been waiting since before Thanksgiving...
Everything I read indicates this is the locker I want. The price is right and it gives the TRUE LOCKING I want.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get this product. I plan to order in the next 3 to 4 weeks (tax refund) and I don't really know of a comparable locker.
I will be waiting....

What I have been doing of late is to go to the summit racing homepage and checking to see if it is still listed as backordered.

Was quite excited about getting the unit before winter. BUT now that we have had some snow I have learned that my open diff'd 4x4 won't engage the front axle. What fun, a one wheel drive 4x4!! Anyway I will be checking the vacuum solenoids, etc, as described countless times by other fortunate owners, just as soon as the cold, wet concrete dries up a bit.

Gotta love FORD vehicles. Oh well, at least I can check for the door cracks without laying on my back!
