as general rule multiply the tire height (33) times (.12) 33x.12=3.96
most people go 1 ratio lower (numerically higher) to make up for putting a heavier wider tire on your truck. the next ratio lower is 4.10
if you were building a trail only truck that never saw the pavement you might go 2 ratios lower to 4.56

First off either take off that 3" leveling kit and install a 2.5" kit or do a 6" lift. You're only hurting the truck with that 3".

Agreed with downgrading to 2.5. 3" is too big and will screw up front end. I would go with 4:10's. That's what I'm going with if I ever get some bigger tires and lift. That way you'll make up for the tire size and give it a little get up and go it didn't have before.

So rough country pretty much talked me into a crappy leveling kit. Why do they offer a 3" kit if its bad. Looking into 2.5 and 4:10 right now

You have a 5spd so unless you do alot of highway driving you don't need to do gears and if you do go with 35"s and a 6" lift and 4.10 or 4.30 gears

I agree with 4.10s and I agree with getting rid of the 3" spacers

if you have 4x4 you can't go with 4:30 ( not available for the front ). if you are going from a stock tire of 28 or 29 i'm guessing, to a 33 tall tire. that is a big difference. you will kill your fuel economy and have a big loss of power. regearing puts you back near the factory fuel economy and engine performance.

True on the 4x4 and no 4.30's but i suggested them cuz im pretty sure his is a 2wd.

but also i ran 35"s with my last truck and before i had gears i was running v6 5 spd with 3.08 gears and my mileage only suffered on the highway. with the manual trans you control the shift points so you not notice the loss as much. on that same note i ran 33"s for a while also with the 3.08s and saw absolutley no power loss but maybe a slight dip in mpg. (went to 4.56 later on the 35"s)

theres really not a pressing issue to regear with 33"s only and a manual trans.

I guess those v6 are more powerfull than I thought. Ive never owned one. an auto eats up a little more hp than a manual right?

yea but its also a shift point issue and the stock gears and big tires confuses the auto trans
