Hmm......plastic cover? Isn't plastic an insulator? I don't think I like the idea of insulation around my gears. The idea is to release the heat so that your gear oil doesn't heat up. That is why other gear covers offer cooling fins. Wouldn't the plastic retain heat as opposed to releasing heat.

Well I`m not sure how but my front diff. was leaking a bit, when I took off the cover the fluid was like milk. The front is never under water so I`m not sure if all that was condensation or what.. Thats what started this whole thing.. well along with needing a new axle

Every time I get bigger tires I feel a speed loss and mine are nowhere near that huge, plus I have a blower.. Did you change the gears with that V6?

You would think the Plastic cover would have steel insert washers imbedded in the bolt holes. The dip stick and drain plug make the steel cover worth it just for this fact alone.
