Rear Axle Seal

I changed my passenger side seal a few years ago and just remember it vaguely...

Drop diff cover of course
Un-bolt tiny bolt
Pull Pin
Slide C-pin out
pull axle out

Now my driver side is leaking, is it the same operation or is there anything different since I'm now on the Ring gear side of pumpkin?

I'm sure it is the same procedure.
That's a little weird. The right rear axle seal on my 2000 F1504x4,5.4,SCab leaked and I just replaced that side. This was at about 80k miles. I sold the truck at 105k and my friend who bought it hasn't had any more leaks.

I've torn into two rears, a 69 SS396 Chevelle 12 bolt and a 74 Ford LTD Wagon and both axles remove the same as my Ford Truck.

got a few questions. . .

I popped the diff cover and drained the fluid. Fluid probably has 35k on it. I used 75W140 synthetic with the ford LS additive. When It was draining I noticed the fluid was very foamy and airated. Why is that?

Next, this Ford crap. I don't think I have a LS. Inside the spider gears there is a S shaped spring. Is that a LS??? Definately not a posi pac.

I didnt buy the 75W140, I got some 85-90 from NAPA cause I am broke as hell in school... thats just going to foam up right, no serious harm? its a flipping diff and some bearings. Shouldnt hurt it
