mscott, you said yours has a moonroof? I didn't know that was an option on the XL, did the dealer put it in for you? Thanks

No, mine doesn't have a moonroof. You are correct in that it is only offered on the XLT.

If I were a rich man I would have probably ordered XLT and then the moonroof, and the power sliding rear window, but I had to draw the line somewhere, and I had things I *needed* like the 5.4 and towing package. The STX part is really the only "extra" I got.

P.S. I'm rooting for the Texans again this year, the Cowboys have lost my support for the time being, all because of stupid Jerry Jones.

Also, the STX's I saw on the lot were at a sticker price of around $28.5k. These were V6's, but they had the XLT package and were Flareside, had window tinting, and a drop in bedliner. I didn't want window tinting because I want to get something else, aftermarket, and am going for a spray in bedliner, eventually. I wouldn't have minded flareside, but the extra price made me rethink it, not to mention that I really wasn't keen on the loss of bed space, my old F100 was flareside and many things barely didn't fit, but were it a standard bed it would have been fine.

mscott, I see you're a young guy like me, you gonna put in a nice sound system? You already have the nice HU, if you bought that Kenwood at the store, it is $400.

Probably, but that has to wait a bit. Any extra money is going towards things on my 74 Nova. I can always find things needing purchased or upgraded on it.

The only thing that annoys me is that the rear speakers in this truck vibrate on lows, which is really annoying.

Sweet I think on the STX, even though they put in the nice stereo, they left the crappy ford speakers in there

Mark,

You said it was hard to find an XL model for your truck? At McRee Ford in ****inson Tx, that is all they have. They are all equipped the same way with the 4.2 V6 and standard tranny.

I have almost 7500 miles on mine and I love it. The only complaint is that I only get 15 - 16 miles per gallon. And of course right after I bought it, gas prices shot through the roof.

Thats what the dealer said to me. It would have been nice to find what I wanted on the lot, then I could have gotten it cheaper.

Boy i thought i was the only one to have purshased one. Not many of them up here and just like you guys was hard to find one with a 5.4. I have to say thought it is by far the best riding F-150 i Have ever owned. I have the Merlot or as the sticker says burgundy but when you order the paint for color code FX it comes in merlot.

mscott, I just picked up a burgundy red STX XLT with the 5.4 and love it, just have to figure out how to fit 2 IDQ 12's under the back seat. The sticker on this one was $32500 and I ended up getting it for $23500 .
I've only seen the burgundy and the silver, that blue looks awesome. Later Jason

I finally got mine. It took 3 months to get it. None of the dealers in the three local states had any on their lots so I had to order. When it came in the sales guy said he didn't understand why they didnt' order these, he liked it so much. That could have been a sales gimic.

So far I haven't seen any other trucks like it.

I wish I could have ordered leather seats for it, but they weren't available for XLT with STX package.

I had a similar response. After mine came in from custom ordering it he said "wow, we had 4 people try to buy this on the spot as it was sitting here today".

They said they could have sold mine 3 times while it sat there for a week (long story), but it had been sitting for about 2 months where I picked it up from. but there was a red 1 sitting at another local dealer for almost 3 months before it sold. All the ones I see at dealerships for any period of time are XLT S/Cab, so maybe that 4000 more was a detourant to someone getting into there first new truck.
