I've not heard of sill protectors for F150s (but then I'm no authority on what's available). I applied paint protection film (myself) to all four door sills on my 2014 truck. After about a year now, they are completely unmarked. The film is virtually invisible.

I'm sold on paint protection film. Make sure if you try to DIY, you get good quality stuff. I can recommend 3M Scotchguard film and Nano-Fusion film. Both are heavyweight and conformable.

Thanks. Sounds like a good alternative to check into.

When I bought my truck new in 2008, only the front passenger door had a sill protector. I questioned the dealer why would they would ever put one on the passenger side and not the driver side when it gets the most use. The dealer went ahead and installed one on the driver's side too. So you must be able to get them from Ford if this is the kind you are looking for. Sorry my truck is pretty dirty.

Avs makes some nice ones. I put them on my truck about 4-5 years ago. They're fantastic and fit great. I had purchased mine through styling trucks at the time.

Except for the fact that those are opaque and have a "tread" surface, they're not too different than the ones I made of paint protection film and installed on my two vehicles. I'll have to take a picture of mine and post it. As I recall, I got film that was 12" wide and 48" long. I made each protector out of 6" wide strips. - Jack

Rustoleum liner in a rattle can...when it wears off, oh well. See how long it lasts, I guess...had some left over from doing the rockers.

My 05 came with them from the factory on both sides. Guess I assumed that they were standard equipment on all trucks.

As usual, there's not a lot to see with paint protection film. I just wiped this off before I took the picture to remove the scuff marks that were there.

.

I lied earlier. The film I bought was 6" wide, so the pieces I put on my door sills are only 3" wide. But, the only part you really need to cover is the curvature at the edge of the door sill. My covers go up to within about 1/2" of the area where the weatherstripping is and they extend about 1/2" below the curve at the outside edge.

You can just see the edge of the film at the lower right of the door sill.
