Tow Hooks on an '03 4x2?

I can't find a definitive post that lets me know it'll work. Planning on adding a new front valence and fogs to my SCrew. The front of the frame has 2-3 holes on the side but none on the bottom. The tow hooks for that year all seem to mount to the bottom. Help... pics if possible!

Factory tow hooks can be mounted on a 2wd ... you need to drill two holes on the underside of each frame end to mount them. I know thejake1989 has done this ... he might have some pics in his gallery.

When you get your tow hooks, try to get the forged ones which came on the '97-'03+/- trucks ... the later year hooks will fit, but aren't as nice in my opinion.

About what i figured... The next question is about the valance... i dont want the ends of the frame to be visable. Seen some pics where they do and some where the valance goes down far enough to cover... any tips?

Thanks!

You can get a valance from a4x4 that has the cutouts needed for the hooks

I just want to make sure I get the correct one... I've seen some that do not cover the end of the frame. Maybe OEM fits better? There is a 4x2 version... Maybe that's the wrong one? Are the frames different 4x2 vs 4x4?

the oem ones are all interchangeable and just bolt to the metal part of the bumper and the4x4 valances will cover the frame and the fronts of the frames are also the same. mines a 98 that i put a 99+ bumper on with 4x4 valance and the tow hooks. look at my albums if you want some pics

Thanks everyone... good info! Z7What has an awesome looking SCrew but if you look in his album there is a pic from the front where you can see the bottom of the frame and where the hook attaches. That's what i'm trying to avoid. I found a 4x4 valance w/fog and tow at a dealership here in San Diego for 130.00... picking it up tomorrow! Thanks again everyone!

Do you have a body lift on your truck? A body lift will raise the bumper/valance, exposing the ends of the frame.

Here's a pic of my stock 4X4 ... tow hooks hang down from the bottom of the frame and the ends of the frame are covered by the valance. One of our 4X2 '00 F-150's at work had tow hooks and the tow hook valance installed on it (materials guy was always getting stuck and needed some way to get pulled out ), and it looked just like my truck.

no body lift on mine... After i posted I thought a little more about it and figured that a body lift would probably make the frame visible. Picking up my valance today... Just need to get the fogs mounted... found the switch on Amazon and the truck was prewired.
Thanks again!
