'08 Upper Bumper Cover/Valence - How To?

Does anyone have the instructions to R&R the upper valence/bumper cover on a 2008? (Or is is an obvious, straightforward job?) I'm going to be helping a buddy, and don't have a manual for his truck.

Thanks.

Andy

I'll check this out when I get back to a PC, but I'm looking for front bumper info. (Maybe yours addresses both front and rear?)

Great how-To write-up, mjb. How 'bout tearing off the front stuff, and letting me know how it goes?

Anyone else have this info?

Thanks.

Yeah, I'd like to see how to take the front apart too.

Guys, check out these pictures of painting I did on my truck last year.
https://www.f150online.com/forums/ca...w-up-pics.html
You'll see that I did remove the front bumper (only I didn't document it-).
The front bumper comes off by unbolting it from all the brackets that you see holding it from underneath. Pulling the front wheels makes it much easier.
And I think I had to remove the headlight assemblies to get at some bolts....not sure though, paint fumes must kill memory cells!
There are some bolts that are hard to get at, but you'll be able to do it.
Good Luck.....for what these trucks cost, rust should never be an issue,......but unfortunately it is. Whatever we can do to help make them last is definitely worth it.

Thanks, mjb, I appreciate the info. I'm looking, though, to take off the plastic trim /filler above the metal bumper you removed. I'm hoping the bumper doesn't have to be pulled for this.

Only problem is that the 2004 / 2005 bumpers and the 2006 - 2008 bumpers are different and mount differently. I would assume the concept is the same, but a step by step tutorial would be ever so useful for both sets..
