How many of you with Illegal window tint...

How many of you got caught. What did you have to do? Im thinking of going 15/10 on my truck and legal limit if 30/15. Pics up in a few for suggestions.

I've been running dark tint on mine for a while now and I've never had any problems (knock on wood). I've been pulled over several times as well -- I always roll down all the windows, turn my interior lights on, put my keys on the dash, and put my hands on the steering wheel. Seems to work like a charm and I've had dark tint on vehicles since '02.

If you are caught and something gets said most of the time you'll just have to peel the tint off. Sometimes you'll still get a ticket and it can be a hefty one depending on the state.

My truck came from the factory with the ~18% privacy tint on the rear. I had a layer of 15% put on the front windows to match the rears and then another layer of 15% put over everything with a 5% eyebrow on the front windshield. It's pretty dark but looks great and keeps things much cooler in the summer.

i have 20% on the front windows of my truck and a 5% eyebrow....i've had factory match fronted tint since i had my chebbie in '96....i still role the windows down if i see the 5-0 on weather permitting days (and usually have them down anyway in the summer, not a fan of AC when i'm working). i've had the sunroof option since 07 and i think that helps my cause as well, but the only time i've actually been pulled over is being stupid when i was in high school and lit up the tires outside of the high school (got let off with a warning and a call home to my parents, i grew up in a small town)...i don't really give the cops a reason to pull me over though either, i drive 72 in a 65 zone usually...

That adactly what I plan on doing tommarow. My mom's SmartCar has 30/15 and its preety dark, but I want darker. I was told by the shop since the front windows will be lighter it will appear to still be stock tint on the rear since my rear is smoked 18%.

I had 15% done on 2 front windows last week it matches the back factory tint! pulled over a few years ago with 5% on sides I didn't get fine just told to take it. I didn't take it off! there is getting to be more and more tinted windows out there! you will be fine if you don't give them a reason to pull you over!

Thats my moms car with legal tint.

I have never been pulled over and never been driving and got an accident. If I get pulled over I will roll down my two front windows.

This is probably the best pic I have of the tint on my FX4. Like I said it's two layers of 15% on the front windows, a single layer of 15% over the factory tint in the rear, and a 5% eyebrow on the windshield.

The GT has 20% tint all around.

I live in a place where we cant have any tint on the front windows but I did mine 5% to try and match the 2 layers of tint on my back windows. I got pulled over to many time but most of the time they just give warnings it just depends.

I got stopped twice in my Ranger, the second time it was a fix-it ticket (remove it within I think 10 days, and your free to go). Granted, that was my high school truck, and all high schoolers think more with their foot than brain, so I was already stopped for something else. We got 5 on our Grand Cherokee all the way around, and no problems. Dont be dumb behind the wheel, and you should be fine.

On my old truck I had 5% on my front two windows and 15% put ontop of the factory tint in the back three. Looks nice and dark. I personally would want it darker so on this truck I want them to put 5% on top of the factory tint in the back and have them put factory on the front two then 5% on top then 35% on the windshield. Thats nothin compared to the guys at my school who have double 5% all the way and 20% on the windshield. Plus here in Oklahoma they don't give a hard time about much stuff. I smoked my tailights so dark that in the day you cant tell if im braking and a cop was behind me and just went on his way.
