Rubber Trim on Windshield Cowling

My 04 has the two rubber trim pieces on either end of the windshield cowling. They are both rotten from being in the sun where can I get replacements? I am planning on repainting the windshield cowling it self with Krylon paint for plastic. Thats what a lot of guys have recommended...

Thanks in advance

I noticed mine is the same way. Fortunatly my truck is still under warranty. I hope Ford has fixed the problem and not just replace it with the same material that will rot away again.

Mine look a little nasty too, but I dont care much about it, I hit then with a little Hyper Dressing and they look low noticed. Shoot your cowl with a plastic adhesion promoter first, and possibly a primer layer. I just shot mine with 3 coats of fusion and its chipped.

Carolina boy,
Check the shelves at you local auto parts store for a restoration product seen on TV from the star of Counting Cars, a show where Danny & his crew restore old classics. I bought the stuff and am shocked that it restored the cowling to the rich near black color it was when new upon application. I have a 2005 F150 that I bought new in August 2005. I used the restorative Linseed oil on all the bleached out parts, including my plastic running boards, and in one coat restored all & no paint. I have to go back and second coat the running boards where the highest traffic was to darken it more, but after a 2 hour cure time all looks great. Good luck with the paint idea. I hope it works. God bless!

Cowling end pieces are found on EBAY- Item number 300989648938-
2004-2008 Ford F150 Mark LT Windshield Wiper Cowl Rubber Ends Left & Right.
$9.99 plus $4.00 first class mail or $6.00 PRIORITY MAIL.
I ordered mine a couple hours ago. $15.99 is cheaper than a new truck. I like my '05 better than the newest trucks!
