painting the frame?

Hello everyone, I've been wanting to paint some parts under the truck black to hide the rust. These parts include: the visible parts of the frame, the fender wells, and the axle. Has anyone done this? And if so, what paint did you use? Thanks in advance

you can always take the cheaper route

rust proof flat black spray paint
or
rubberized undercoating
or
bedliner spray

Since you live in New Hampshire, I would suggest under coating... It will surely extend the life of your truck...

You dont ever want to "hide" the rust. You need to remove it, then paint with a rust-inhibiting paint/under coating.

I did my axle with Rustoleum Stops Rust flat black. Came out well. Though, my axle wasn't covered in rust to begin with.

Here's the thread: https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...aint-axle.html

I have a 1990 F250 that I painted everything underneath...front & rear, frame, fender wells, gas tanks. I had to sand everything first, then used rustoleum primer then did a couple coats of gloss black. I recoat it once a year just to keep it looking good. I show this truck so on the front axle and rear leafs i went over the black in a blue chrome to add some color.
