Bed Extender Mounts

Here's the short version of a long story -

I had a bed extender and sold it for ~200 (hardware and all) to another Supercrew owner. The issue now is that I was given a bed extender (don't ask, i used it more than i thought) by a friend who traded his truck in, but now I need the swivel points (hardware to connect it to the bed). I went by my local dealer's parts department today and they said that just the bolts to mount the extender are not sold, and that I would have to buy the entire thing (~$525+shipping!).

Does anyone know if this is false information or if there is another place I can find the hardware for the extender? I did a search on Ebay and Craigslist and didn't see anything.

Thanks!

That's false info. I bought a bed extender off of Craigslist and it was with NO HARDWARE. I called my local Ford dealer and bought the swivel bolts etc. It was cheap for the hardware. If I remember right the little gromit plugs that go in the wholes to protect the paint were the most expensive parts. I think I would just go without them.

Any chance that you (or anyone) would know the part numbers? They told me that these bolts were included with the bed extender so they did not have a separate part number and could not be ordered - go figure.

The next closest dealership is about 30 minutes or so away so it's going to be a day or two until I can run by there.

Thanks!

If you don't mind, having the part number would be a tremendous help. I appreciate the offer to order the parts, but I can go hassle the dealer - I'd be anxious to know why they couldn't find or provide me the part numbers in the first place.

If they still cannot do it (I wouldn't be surprised) - I would certainly take you up on that offer.

Thanks!

Pat man,
If You wouldn't mind, How about getting a parting number for the Mounting hardware for a 2001 Supercrew?

I was given the same reply about not being able to order the mounting parts seperately.

Thanks

Any luck with a part number for the pivot pins? I have called several dealers and got the same answer as I12AV82.

Lavadog - who is your dealer?

I got them. My dealer charged me $17 for each pivot bolt and the bushings for the locking pins were $12 each. What a friggen joke.

I got the nuts (10-.5MM) and washers from Home Depot for $0.48.

Thanks for the info.

if u have a 5.5 box then you dont need the washers and nuts. your bed should have a collar in the hole and the bolts are self tapping and will tap their own threads in the collar.....
