Light grey honeycomb grill spotted

The other day i walked by a f150 with a stock looking honey comb front grill, but it didnt look like the normal dark grey plastic. It was much lighter grey. It was on a red xlt. Is that just faded dark grey? It was with the 01 updated larger grill so i cant imagine that it would be that faded....
Anyone out there see one or maybe own one. Pics would be awesome. I hope im not just goin crazy.
Thanks,
-Patrick

That's an easy way to spot a 1999 model.
Only year with the grey honeycomb.
Also the 1999 didn't have the Drivers grab handle.

It would probably take 30 minutes to tape/newspaper off the front of your truck, the blue oval and cover the radiator from behind, then buy a $5 can of silver spray paint or any other color. The new aerosols adhere to plastic.

The only thing that keeps me from doing that in Gold is everybody wants my Silver.
(and I haven't found a match for Ford's 'Harvest Gold')

I found a match to the harvest gold, its real close that you don't notice too much difference, its actually a Toyota color. I can't remember the number, but I used the Toyota's goldish color and it worked great. I did touch up work to my running board on my Eddie Bauer Expy and it actually matched better than what Ford used on them from factory.

Isn't the harvest gold really close to Arizona Beige? I have an extra Arizona Beige honeycomb grill that I never got around to doing anything with that I'll sell you.

Raoul is the one that wants his in arizona beige. I want the 99 stock light grey almost a silver color. So you (dufunnel) would have to talk to him (raoul) to get him to buy your beige grill. Then he can contact me to sell me his.

Arizona Beige is one of the colors used on the King Ranch.
I was interested in King Ranch parts until a co-worker bought one and I parked right beside it. The Arizona beige is just that, 'Beige' and the Harvest Gold is 'Gold'. Putting the two trucks side by side it was easy to see it wouldn't work.
