what grab handle, most people who ride in my truck call that the ^%$##@ head banger. funny part is they usually end up holding onto the whole time they ride. not because of my driving ....just so they don't forget it's there and hit it on the way out. LOL
oh yeah the dash thing, seem to get it everytime at laugh at someone who hits their head. hate that.

Well I can avoid that part of the dash, but oh that grab handle. Well it's rare that I even use the passenger side door. The only time I use it is when I want to get something out of my glove box. And I think every time as I pull my head out, wham... that handle. I think I've knocked a good 20 points off my IQ with that handle alone.

My wife has the same problem because she moves the seat so far forward. When I see this, I move it back to my normal position before entering and have no problem.

Question

Is it true the 2000's have a grab handle on the driver's side, too? If so, your knee won't hurt so bad cause your head will feel worse.

Foxfire, that may explain what happens to some here but, my wife (Bertha) is much larger than I. I actually move the seat forward after she has driven the truck. The only reason I didn't marry her sister is because Bathsheba would not fit into a regular cab.

Doesn't it always hit that part of the knee that makes your eyes water and your bloodpressure jump about 50 points, too?

Thumbs down

Raoul: I have that problem too since I'm 6'3" tall. The last time I did it it sounded like I cracked the dashboard! If they could only move it in just one more inch...

Raoul,

Since I am the epitome of physical co-ordination, I have never done that.

I have, on occasion, left my fingers in the door edge while it closed ........and have ejected a cigarrette at the window only to have it return to my lap from a closed window. But these are not caused by physical defects however, just mental ones.

Cool

I've also discovered that after paying off the beast that I no longer hit my knee because now I never worry about being late with a payment I did put the window up once with my finger still sticking out, scraped all the meat off one side and I saw stars.

Post My knee hurts

I just did it again. When I get in the truck(drivers's side) my left knee hits that piece of dash that sticks out where the light switch is. It has happened about 4 times in the 6 months I've had the truck. Does this happen to anybody who has had their truck a long time? Am I going to get any smarter? It only seems to happen when I'm late with a payment. How does Ford do this?

One of my friends would constantly hit her head on the grab handle on the passenger side. I do it every once in a while myself.

Talking

Slide your driver's seat back.

Everytime I'm late with a payment, I slide the seat back so I can just reach the pedals. No more knee problems

I hit it all the time. Seems like an ergonomic snafu on Ford's part.
