Mine's almost 4 years old and have had only minor problems. Even after all this time I still find myself turning around to look at it as I walk away at a store or put it to bed at night in the garage. lol

Lol, I totally agree with Frank S, even though I bought mine used with several miles on it. It has been taken well care of by it's previous owner and me. I don't care what year a vehicle is as long as it still looks and runs good.

You gotta realize something. No product is ever perfect. Ford is no different. Having said that, you need to understand that over-all, Fords have fewer problems than the Chevy and Dodge. Furthermore, of something like 10,000 registered members of this board, a relatively small number of members are experiencing any kind of problem that warrants attention here and an even smaller number is having any kind of major problem.

It just *looks* like F-150s are trouble prone because those with problems are quite vocal here and rightly so.

For me, I have a '99 that has had few minor problems that were taken care of by myself and the dealer. It's the best vehicle that I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of vehicles from the US, Germany, and Japan!

Of all the Fords I've owned, I have never had a major problem. None of my Fords have ever been towed. I can't say the same for the slew of foreign cars I've owned in the past.

Cool

Mine hasn't been in for anything. It's common to hear from people that have truck problems; there are so many on the road???

Bought mine used with 24k on it already,it's up to 56k now and only minor troubles. It starts and runs, gets there and back, and has never left me on foot in the two years I've had it. Still look back at it every time I park The negative posts are more prevelant because when people are unhappy with their truck, they are more likely to post about it. I know I am. But I would bet even some of the unhappy posters still wouldn't trade their truck for anything(except maybe a Lightning ),,,,,98

Thumbs up

You could set my truck on fire, and roll it down a hill, and I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe DeVille. Really. I love it, it's sitting out front with a battery in it. *S*

The HD is my second late model F-150 (the first was a 1997 XLT Supercab. Neither vehicle ever went back to Ford for anything, neither under warranty or not. Fit and finish has been excellent, although not as good as on some of the Japanese cars I've had in the past, but I ain't complainin'.

The HD truck is awesome and a head turner where ever I go. Love it.

As long as I don't have to drive, work on, or depend on my truck its great. But as said before I don't think I would get rid of it. Everytime I break something new I ask myself why I bought it, then I take one look at it and know. Plus what else was I going to buy, a dodge? Not too many good choices out there. Too bad toyota doesn't make a true full size truck. Now that I would get rid of mine for.
