I know this thread is getting old but I just had to put my two cents in . . . I, like many others, still check out the truck both coming and going . . . the only thing I like better than working on it is driving it . . . minor problems with the truck, the dealer, and Ford, and the gas mileage sucks, but quite possibly the best vehicle I have ever had . . . !

I've had no real problems to speak of.I figure that niggling little things may be good because that might mean no BIG things are lurking (superstitious??). The steering wheel was perfectly centered off the lot, even, and still is. (The dealer offered free alignment before 12K was up and I said no way was I going to let them *near* the tie rods!)

14K on it and except for the gas mileage, which I expect, I have no complaints. I actually wish it had a bigger tank, though I'd have to visit the bank to fill it up and sort of wait till paydays now come to think of it. Ha.

I love my F-150, I have had a few minor problems and the door cracks have to be adressed by Ford but hey I've had a Toyota. I'll take my F-150 and drag a Tundra around the block any day of the week.

I am happier than a pig in sh*t with my F150. I too look at my truck often. I am so proud to be the owner! Everything works perfectly for me. I think the 4.6 has awsome power for what I use it for.
In my opinion Ford makes the best looking truck. They've also managed to offer some really good option groups at a reasonable price.
As far as problems are concerned, I have seen so many problems with so many products lately. I don't think it's a Ford thing. It's a sign of the times. Too bad for us, the consumers.

I really am enjoying my 2000 F150 supercab I just hope it will last as long as my trade in did (and still is for someone)I traded my 1979 F100 shortbed w/351M motor & auto. trans. in with 280,000 miles on it, got it in '82 with 25,000 miles, sure hated to part with that old soldier,it was a great truck but the familys getting bigger and I just liked that extra cab room. Plus the price of gas was eatin me up at 8 MPG. I found me a replacement for the '79 though, got a '67 F100 shortbed fixer upper for weekend cruisin'.

Well my 89 F-150 has only really had 2 major problems; gears in the tranny were sticking and the radiator had a leak in it. Ive owned this truck for about 4 years now and it has 100,000 miles and other than those 2 things, there hasn't really been anything wrong with it (except little things like worn ball joints and worn clutch). Runs great for an 11 year old truck, and i can assure you that i dont baby it at all. In fact, i beat the living crap out of it and it just keeps on trucking. i love my truck!
