Before you buy from some of these discount internet sites, you might want to read the manufacturers warranty. Most indicate they will not honor a warranty if purchased from an unauthorized dealer. Crutchfield is an authorized dealer for everything they sell. It's electronics, I'd take my chances with an authorized dealer. The cheaper prices are inticing, but it's not a risk free purchase. Pioneer website regarding warranty

Hmmm.... manufacturer vs. discount vendor. Not sure that's worth much. I think I'll continue to spend my extra coin and purchase from authorized dealers. It worked out pretty good for me recently. 3sixty.2 issues

Thats really disappointing that you would support these sites. They really hurt retailers/installers like myself. Everytime I see someone support those its almost like a slap in the face to me (and probably is to the others in the same profession).

I run a small retail store front also , and cannot count how many times people came in and asked if I can price match ebay . It use to bother me
but the truth is I woke up ,

I went to purchase a new Samsung LED TV from a store 2 weeks ago ,
I asked for the best price they could give me . $3999.00 plus tax and 399.00
for the extended warranty .Then I went on ebay brand new unit same model
$3300.00 shipped to my door with a 3yr extended warranty . The seller had 100% feedback and high sales .

That is a $1300.00 savings

Simple question which one would you of bought .

Now if somone buys somthing online or of ebay and comes in my store and wants me to help them for free , thats another story .

People just want to save money they are do diffrent than anyone else .

SonicElectronix are some bottom feeding low-balling bitches...lol! That's the competitor side of me speaking. They are killing the retail industry with their minimal markup if any. All product warranties HAVE to be done through them because no manufacturer will honor product sold by them.

Hey Stephen87, I like your choice of DB Product. Glad to see the name pop up on these forums. Those Platinum 10s are 6 to 6-1/2 inches deep whether you go with the PT or PLT versions. It takes some work and a custom box but they will fit. More and more people are noticing the DB product. Check out the system I just installed for a kid Friday in his 07 Focus.

Clarion Max675vd headunit
DB Platinum PLT57 5x7 Coaxial/Components in each door
DB Platinum PLT12D4 12" Subs
DB Speed Series SPA150.4 150watt x 4 amplifier
DB Speed Series SPA1900.1 1900watt @ 1 ohm amplifier

He hit a 148.3 DB at the contest Sunday here in Kansas City. I really didn't design the system for DB contests but he was in the top 10. Pretty impressive for a non hatchback system. The box is a prefab 2.25cuft per chamber dual 15 box that I made panels for to hold the 12s. I'm trying to talk him into letting me turn the box upwards (if I can get it back out) and cutting a vent through the rear deck to blow the port straight into the vehicle. I've done the same setup in another focus and it is crazy. Had he of let me do that I'm sure we would have been in the 150 range for the DB Drags.

I've been a direct DB Drive dealer for almost 5 years now and have nothing but great things to say of their product. In the 5 years I have only had to warranty one of their speed series 10" subs and a Platinum 2000watt amps that cooked itself on a 4hr trip to St. Louis. One of my Excursions have two of the Platinum 12s in it and my other has three of their Platinum WD 15s in it.

i understand what u mean, unfortunately this is the world we live in. its all about the dollar, if someone is a dealer of a product there is nothing to stop u from selling at a discount online. even u guys. at ur store of course your selling ur install, and have to get paid, for the online stuff i would have no prollem selling a sub ,making 25$ a sub selling hundreds a day, instead of making 100$ off each one. as far as the online shops go there is no stopping it, so no sense in fighting it.yes they offer their own warranty, who knos what or if any prollems there can be with that, so everything is price driven. thats just the way it is. i am happy i paid 250 for my components, at the 500 dollar every authorized place wanted, i would not have them. it is up to u to properly install. we deal with this stuff with what i do as well. i can install quality hvac. for a price. then the hack next door can do crap work for 1000 less, it is the same concept. dont mind my typing it is terrible, i kno
