awesome! you should always run components if you can. Looks like you have a 97 so if you have sail panels above the main door I would mount them there. In 05+ if you have the XLT model there are cut outs already for the tweeters as they come with the premium sound system I believe. So I've used those cut outs in my 05 and my 08.

Yea I was planning on putting components in both the back and front at about ear to top of the head level

edit now that I looked up what sail panels were I think I am going to put them there instead of on the pillers in the front, now I just need to figure a spot on the back

I dont recommend components in the rear doors. I have no rear speakers in my install and the system sounds great. If you insist, I would just do a coaxial with perhaps a low power amp (even the OEM HU) for rear fill.

Agree.... take the money you would spend on a second set of components for the rear and buy better components for the front.

yeah it's basic audio 101, you want your soundstage to be focused towards the front of the system where you sit. If you got to a concert they don't play behind you right, same idea here. I always use 4-channel amps for the doors, small, good wiring options and plenty of power to run a set of good components and rear speakers. I use Polk components and always run a Kicker ZX200.4 amp with them, 2nd setup I've use and they turn out great every time.

Tell us more about your current set up in detail?

If I were you I would disconnect the rear polks altogether.

This is my install thread. It is long....you can read pages 1-7 and then skip to page 13-15.
http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...w-install.html

I am not suggesting is is a "typical" install, but it has a ton of info.

Hey Stephen
so I can just leave my polk audio speakers in the rear and buy good components for the front
Well yea.... but it's funny you should seperate 'good' from 'Polk Audio'

My components are Polk Audio DB5251's... and I LOVE them :-) Good price, and nice, smooth, soft dome tweets, with a 3 level output setting.

Honestly, I know that some of the high dollar component sets that guys rave about, sound very nice.... however "so do the Polks, and at a MUCH better price". I think the differences between them would often come down to personal preference. Which for me, the only thing I strongly prefer, is soft dome tweeters, which my Polk's have, so I'm all good.

Oh... or the 6 1/2"s > http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...nt+System.html

Peace,
Fish

i am not saying that polk is bad in fact I love mine(and I was thinking about going polk audio for the component, either them or infiniti) but the ones I have now are not polk component speakers they are just the regular speakers.

and my set up as of now is pretty shoddy, it is one 10" kicker Kicker CompVR 07CVR102 sub, for the speakers I have 4 polk audio db 570, my amp for my sub is a Baja HA1000M(I know some people say its bad but I got it for 20 bucks), the amp for the speakers is not installed yet but the one they gave me was a diamond audio D3 400.4m, and as for my head unit I cant remember it is a jvc with a slideout touchscreen and it is some what older

however my set up that I will have in the near future is as follows:
subwoofer: 2 10 DB drive platniums(or just buy one more Kicker CompVR 07CVR102)
Speakers: polk or infiniti component
speaker amp: Kicker 08ZX350.4(or maybe kennwood)
sub amp: Kicker 08ZX750.1(or maybe kennwood @ 1000 watts)
Head unit: a computer
