Should the factory antenna ring be left when installing 556sw?????

The factory one should stay on unless you dont want to be able to start your truck. Now the one that the installer made can go bye bye.

555SW, 556 is for the 04+

Does the 555sw and 556 come with there own antenna ring?

Yes. You dont need the 556 anyways.

Why dont I need it, mine is a 2004??

Can the antenna ring from either of those models be used to replace the factory ring??

Its old body style but still STX, Heritage. Its shaped like the red one in your sig......

Thats what I thought. 555. You are using a PATS system, not the SPATS like the new bodys. I know because I bought the 556 for my Heritage and didnt work.

And the 555SW will allow just the chip to be embedded in the ignition NOT the entire key, correct?????

Correct, its just a small pellet in a box (the same one thats in the back of your keys, just a new unprogrammed one).

The factory must stay, its what recieves the signal. The aftm acts another key, and sends the signal

Look all you have to do is put the loop from the 555 around the key cylinder. Voila. Done. (if you have the other wires hooked up)

Im still going to let the shop do it for me. But I just want to make sure they dont mess anything up like the last shop. And since the last shop glued the key to the antenna ring, the new shop said they might have to break that ring in order to free it. But the new shop say the ring that comes with the 555will be able to replace prior ring and will be just as proficient....
