DCC is usually hard to get a hold of and probably wont answer many if not most or all of your questions. Digital Market is running the 2010 setup with the FK50P controller and once he gives us some more feed back on the setup I too will be willing to run the setup along with a set of troyer under drive pulleys since ill be taking the clutch fan off, might as well make a day of it and get some new pulleys and a gator back belt under there!

Don't expect to hear anything from DC Control. The only thing you will have is the receipt from PayPal. You should get your controller in about 4 to 6 weeks..and that my friend is no lie!! Not a good way to do business, but the product is more than worth the wait..they are bulletproof.

On another note...I got the 2010 fan setup installed in my 07 this afternoon. There will be no pictures as this was not the piece of cake as I was expecting. They do fit though. You have to remove the lower 'wedge' mounts on the fan assy (both sides). Also only one of the top bolts can be used, but that is ok. the top of the shroud has clips to help hold the shroud on. And as 'DigitalMarket' pointed out. Make yourself two small brackets for the bottom and it will clip over the bottom lip of the rad. One other slight mod needed (at least on an 07) you have to Dremmel out a small piece of the shroud to clear the ABS controller. The fans do fit quite well on the Rad. what I did was to use a rubber foam weatherstrip around the edges. I am running mine off an FK50P DC Controller with no problems...yet. Will know more in a few days of use. Best I can give you at this point..it appears it will be worth the effort. On another note...as of right now Ford does not have a replacement pigtail for the motors...so it's a spade terminal setup for now.

Ill be ordering a 2010 Fan in a few weeks when my dc controller gets here. Just re-ordered one yesterday. If anyone can manage to get a HOW TO with pictures, that would be great. Or a detailed explanation with say a paint drawing

thanks for the help!

Hey.

Can you answer a question please?

Why no just jump in with both feet , in parallel with the other folks doing this mod, and perhaps author the How-To, yerself?

Points:

- Digital Market has already proven without a doubt that it is not only doable, but emminently straightforward.

- DM has provided sufficient details on mounting an connections.

- DCControl's website provides detailed connection info.

- DCControls IS very responsive with tech support simply by emailing Brian. I know this for a fact because he has already been a HUGE help to myself in this regard. ( I dunno why other folks are having difficulty - perhaps it's in their approach? Realistic expectations are also key)

- ALL The rest, if required (F150-specific stuff related to connections, turn-on temps, routing, power, etc) is readily available here in the vast archives via a simple search, as it's been covered many times before.

So - what's stopping you? I respectfully submit that if you still need a comprehensive how-to, given the easy availability of all the above resources, that perhaps you should reconsider doing this yerself.

My Humble no-nothing advice: again, given the above, is to have a little more confidence in yerself and just go for it.

But - good luck to you in any case.

I have a Spal PWM P3 controller and the new f150 fans. I am looking to find the Ford part number for the pig tail connector to plug into the new f150 fans. As soon as I find the part number I will let everyone know how it and if it works

I believe you are correct on this. The last time I talked to my friend at the dealership (parts Mgr.) right now it's only available as part of a larger wiring assembly. The individual pigtail hasn't been released, as of yet anyway.

To be clear on a few points, there is nothing strange about this install at all..unless, like me if you have an 07 (not sure of the 08 MY). where you have to do some extra cutting of the shroud where the fans mount to clear the ABS pump unit, or move it back on the frame which you have to do with the FAL-270 kit. Outside of having the wait time for the DC Controller, E-mails to Brian have been answered for me (I think I had to e-mail Brian once, got an immediate response). I also got a bum fan unit where it has a squealing from the fans when they are running less than 50% power. Can't return them as they have been modded. I went back to my Mark Vii setup for the time being as I know that works for me, I just wanted to do the dual fan thing. With that all being said, anyone that has done any modding and wiring at all can do this mod, it's quite straight forward. Sometimes it's hard to try to take photos and do a write-up on a new mod because sometimes it's a lot of trial and error. I only had a couple of wiring questions for 'Digital' in reference to diode placement on the AC trigger wire, that was all I had a question with. Just do it !

Why DC choose a frequency in the human hearing range... I don't know. You can't hear it in the cab, engine running, etc. Check out some of the articles out there on the Internet about PWM fan control explaining why it happens. Don't know if it happens with the Mark IV fan, if it doesn't its probably because its heavy and doesn't resonate that frequency well. Put that Ford fan back on and don't that noise worry you.
Thank you 'Digital', I was sure I had a bum assy. The 'Mark' Fan doesn't do it and the Troyer setup didn't either (that I noticed anyway). Thanks again for the info !!

Its weird. One of my Troyer fans did it, the other didn't.

2nd paragraph of page 2 of the above document explains it. I have a couple of 9 inch fans which do it at about 20-30%. Its short of a quiet, high pitched buzz.

anyone have dimensions for the 2010 fans? I'm looking at doing an E-fan conversion along w/ a S/C install and would like to go with factory new ford parts.
