Replacement Headlight Bulbs

I was looking into changing my headlight bulbs because I want that HID look without the price. I was looking at the Sylvania Silverstars.
Has anyone replaced their's and what did you use and how do they look? Does anyone have any advice on which ones I should buy?

Sylvania doesn't make Silverstars for our trucks yet. Best you can get from Sylvania are the xtravisions. Not sure about other manufacturers.

I just went to Discount auto parts and they told me they do make them, DAP just doesnt carry them. They said the part number was H13ST. I know in the manual it says they're 9008's, thats why I'm confused.

H13 is the "official" name for the 9008. Even when I go to Sylvanias web site it does not list an H13ST. Also just did a search on google. No H13ST or 9008ST bulb listed anywhere. I did find a few references for the 9145ST fog lamp bulb, but nothing at a retailer yet. I don't think Sylvania has released it yet, just annouced it is coming.

I had Eurolight Fusion bulbs in my aftermarket projector-type headlights.. Melted my stock wiring harness within 6 months, had to re-wire both headlights in the parking lot at work with a pocket knife and electrical tape. Went back with Sylvania after that...

Well, they do make them now - I just bought a pair of them last night - 9008 ST/2 - 2 Pack of Sylvania Silverstars at AutoZone. Don't like the place - they were just the only ones that had them. 36.99 for the pair and they make a world of difference from stock lights.

The 9008 bulbs are for the new trucks, but you have a 2002?

Yeah, I put those in my 2002.

The H13's are for the 2004/5/6.

Sorry, I keep forgetting that I have an old 150 :-)

Yes, mine are 9007 - no "H" in the name.

Put them into lightning headlights that I installed aftermarket.

Two of my friends have Frontiers and one night they were parked beside eachother at one of my buddy's house and one of them has stock and the other has the Silverstars. I wasn't impressed with the difference honestly. Since the reflectors are designed different in a Frontier than an F150, I can't say affirmatively whether or not there will be a significant difference for us. All I can say is anyone getting those tinted blue light bulbs, be prepared to replace them all the time. I had them in my Tacoma and I replaced them every 2 months it seemed. I also had HIDs in my truck currently. I removed them because the ballasts kept going bad, every 6 months roughly. And with HIDs purchased from the internet, that's the only place you can get them. So for your first pair, buy two in case you blow a bulb or ballast, you can replace immediately while you order another kit. Then again, I had mine plug and play. If you're going to go HID, use a relay system!!!! This will give you the best power for your transformers. If you go Bi-Xenon, a relay system is required. My gitlfriend's bi-xenon kit in her 08 Sport Trac is lasting over 2 years, running flawlessly! Also, there is no difference between 9008 and H13 bulbs. It's like an F150 and Mark LT.
