Repair Manuals

Does Chilton have a repair manual for the '99 F150 ? I am looking for something better (or at least more detailed) then Haynes. What about Ford's shop manual ?

I called the Chilton people last year looking for a manual for the '97 F-150. They were whining about being bought by some other publishing company yada yada yada!

Anyway, they said they would have one out in about a year. If I remember right they were bought by Peterson publishing. You may be able to find them on the net. Let us know.

Not yet, but you can purchase the Ford manuals if you don't mind the stiff price ($250.00).
You can find the web site that carries them in previous posts, I don't know what it is at this moment.

For the manuals that Iggy mentioned above, try www.helminc.com . According to people from other mailing lists, the Helm shop manuals are top notch.
I hope this helps.

Has anyone tried the Car Care CD from Popular Mechanics magazine. Apparently, you can access the manual, TSBs, 'Diagnostics & Repair'. Costs around $30 for the whole deal. I've found plenty of good car info in the magazine over the past few years & would think that the PM CD might be a good resource. Any comments/ideas?

Helm also has the manuals on CD-Rom. Haven't gotten them yet but hope to soon. Has anyone tried them yet. I think the cost is around $230 for the 98 series but it includes TSB's and some other things that are not included with the standard manual.

Get the Ford (Helm) manuals from ebay or direct from Helm. VERY good manuals with too much detail. I actually scored a set off ebay for our 06 Explorer for 25 bux, cant beat it.

Download Motorcycle and Truck Repair Manuals in PDF Format

http://freemotorcyclemanuals.net - (a bit of a pain in the ***, it directs to other websites that have free manuals, download speeds are slow, but I managed to get what I wanted). Free is Free, even if it did take time. They have over 400 Manuals for about 10 makes.

http://repairmanualclub.com/motomanuals - Went through a process for about 10 minutes and then realized I needed to pay per download. It's is only 5 bucks a download, but 5 bucks is 5 bucks. Still, nice site, easy to use.

http://www.themotorbookstore.com/mot...e-manuals.html - This is not for Instant Download, but they have a huge range of manuals. A but pricey, especially when you consider the Post and Packing.

And of course there is ebay. This is where I bought my last manual. Usually get one for 5-10 bucks

I have a set of Helms repair manuals that I am looking to sell from my 99 F150. There are 3 big thick heavy manuals in the set. Make me a reasonable offer and maybe we can do business.

Here's a site that offers the Ford manuals on DVD (didn't check to see if they offered a 99):
