I am interested in this unit also for my 2005 KR but I think this guy "nothingbutaford" is long gone from here. I just noticed that this thread is from Jan 07..not 08! His PM mailbox won't accept any new mail because it is over storage capacity. Oh well............

We also carry the ford siruis tuner to go with the ford nav as well.

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately, things have been real crazy. I know it has been difficult for some of you to reach me, my email box here gets full a day after I clean it out, and the same with my phone. I have a new email address for you guys to use to make things easier. It's nothinbutaford@charter.net . Please leave me your name and number as well as the best time to call (including time zone). Hopefully this will make things simpler for everyone. Thank you, Mark/nothinbutaford

f-150 OEM/GPS

hi, i need some help to figure out how to make my navigation system to work. I just put a ford HD/GPS unit in my f150 and it's all work just when you drive the gps arrow on the screen does not move. i guess thats a speed sensing thing. Let me know if anyone knows how to fix this. And when i put my headlights on, the display still on day brightness, can this be adjusted ??? . Thanks !

i also want to add the navigation to my 06 F150 that has 6cd w/ steering controls, so ive been doing alot of research and looking around for the factory nav. ive read this posting and have been even more inspired. saw the nav on ebay for $700-$1200. i decided i would call the dealer and check their price, they said the factory nav w/ ant and cd was $680. but when i talked to the service dept. they told me that since my 06 F150 did not come stock with the navigation, it would not work. After reading all of the postings i am curious why the guy didnt think it would work. just curious why he thinks it will not work, anybody?? and is this unit a touch screen??? thanks

Sorry I didn't read through all 6 pages so maybe this question has already been answered.

Where is the best (cheapest) place to buy these units? I need one with the mp3 plug deal for an '07.

Or do any of the supporting vendors offer a deal on the unit?

Thanks.

Awesome thread, I just bought one off ebay and installed it iin my 05 King Ranch. With the same cutting and antenna adapter, I am up and running perfectly. Even my steering wheel controls work without problems.

The guy I bought from took all my truck information, and programmed it before I got it...he also gauranteed everything would work as it was supposed to. He was right, this system is awesome!

One question, there is a phone button in the left column of buttons...what does it do? Nothing happens when I push it.

I believe you have to have SYNC to use the phone button.

I received a unit off ebay yesterday and the darn thing would not fit properly. I am not willing to modify my dash so I sent it back. The person claimed no modification would be needed for an 07 F150. Guess he was wrong.

Does anyone know if all the nav systems are the same or are some different dimensions?

Bob

All factory ford navs are exactly the same size. on the f150 the two small tabs on either side may need to be trimed thats all. You can bolt the radio in without doing so the tabs will bend back over time. So actually he was right.
