It looks like a Magellan 700/760. Once you get it connected you can find out what model it is through the interface.

I have it installed in the truck but i've only had it a few days. I'm not sure how to determine what the hardware model is. I've gone to the diagnostics screen but it doesn't say the 760 unless it's disguised as some other number. It does have software version and map/map compiler version. Is there something I can read off of that screen to determine for sure what it is? Is there another screen where I can find out for sure?

I'll write my diags down and you can compare. I'm sure it is a 760 though.

I just bought one of these units on eBay and was getting ready to install it. I want to add the USB cable but I can't find the USB port on the unit. I've printed out the instructions to the Roadmate 760 and it shows the port on the cradle but I don't see a cradle on my unit.

I'm not the greatest mechanic in the world but I thought this was one I could handle. Can anyone help me find my USB port?

Thanks,

Dan

If I remember correctly It's right next to the power plug. I disassembled the housing on mine to plug it in.

Thanks...I'll look for it when I get home tonight. Hopefully the housing unit isn't too difficult to take apart. Like I said earlier...I'm not a handyman by any stretch of the imagination.

Boy do I feel like a dummy. I took the 4 screws out in the back of the unit but the GPS still doesn't come out of the case. It's like the top of the case needs to come off but I can't see how to do it. Any suggestions?

I've had mine apart twice but I can't remember without seeing it. Take a couple pictures and it'll come back to me. I just had mine apart when I added this cable to mine :o There is also a release button that you need to push too.

Now I really feel like a dummy. While I was uploading the photos to send you my wife came over...popped a couple of clips and the top came right off of the unit...problem solved.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks again for your help. I got it installed and it is operating. How do I know if the software in my unit is version 5 or version 6? The seller on eBay advertised that it was version 6 but the unit has a 5.36(?) come up during the start up process. Is this the software version?
