Got mine too. I plan on doing the update tomorrow. I am going to run an extension cord to the power supply of the laptop. The truck also has to stay on for 2-3 hours. I think that means having the key switch in a position just before turning the starter, when the gauges are all on, right?

I'm running the laptop off an extension cord like you but I have my key all the way forward. I keep going out to check about every 10-15 minutes. I don't want the truck's "power save" shut off the electrical system and screw my unit.

I still have an hour and 5 minutes to go. They weren't kidding about 2-3 hours.

Yeah, that's what I meant the key is all the way forward, any more would run the starter and if you have an F150 with gauges it will show the amp meter about mid level, right?

You might want to leave a trickle charger connected to your truck when doing the update. Even with everything off the truck almost ran out of juice after three hours. The battery level indicator was down near the low mark. I thought it was going to mess up the Magellen upgrade. But I think I am OK. I have the truck on a 2 amp battery charger now to get it back up to a level that will get it started. I do, however, have the original battery which may explain it.

Trip planner was always there.

My truck did die....moments after it finished.

Seems to pick up satelites faster other than that no differences from what I can tell.

Trickle charger is a must.

Support will get back to you in 2 days and tell you to call the 800 customer support number. I held for 45 minutes and 2 times before 20 minutes before I got tired of waiting.

But here is the number: 866 339 0488

Guys, I just recently bought the Magellan Integrated GPS unit for my F150, but it says it's the Magellan Roadmate FD71. Is the Roadmate 700 the same thing? They look the same, but I don't want to buy map updates until I'm sure I'm getting the right thing.

Where did you buy it from? Is this a BandMotion unit?

I don't see BandMotion on it anywhere, but that doesn't mean it's not one. I got it from Octane Auto Supply. Click this link to their site and it's advertised on the main page.
