it was so nice out yesterday and today i got my polk audio db 571's installed...i didn't amp them but may do so in the future, but man what a difference from stock, usually around 30 or 35 volume there was distortion but now sometimes i can get close to 50
pretty easy to remove the door trim pieces as well but i broke a cpl plastic rivets off cuz i couldn't figure out how to safely remove those ha

My evening mod was to the stock intake. Followed the link on the front page for the instructions HERE. Haven't drove the truck yet but am taking it to work tomorrow for my alignment. When revving it up though you can definitely hear the intake better and from the pictures you can only assume it's going to breathe a lot better now especially at higher rpms. The oem black peice will fit completely inside of the new 3" pvc pipe.
Still grabs the cooler outside air from the inner-fender area like stock does too.

Drove it to work today - throttle response seems much improved. Can hear the engine 'breathe' a bit better when you are stepping on it. I forgot to unplug my battery though while doing the work last night so I need to get the computer reset so it can relearn the new air/fuel strategies with the improved air flow.
For us with the 97-03's, we should check this out if we have a get-together soon. Free engine mod for better idle and throttle response.

I remember doing the fender/intake thing on my 99 about 4 or 5 years ago...
I think I used 3" flexible dryer vent tubing
Had it laying around came up with the idea to use it there. Had some larger tubing running from the front air dam up to the inner fender...was alway going to connect the two to see if it would give me some type of 'ram air' effect but never got around to it. Pulled the silencer out of the plastic elbow as well.
Whether or not it made a difference I dont really know...seemed like it, although Im sure I wanted it to feel like it made a difference too. I remember it turned on the check engine light.
Those things, along with porting out the stock throttle body, doing a little to the plenum, doing the TPS adjustment, and the duals I had on it seemed to make a difference though. It was a 4.6 and I always seemed to blow the doors off three different freinds trucks who had the 4.6 also.
Nothing you guys havent seen done on this site before Im sure, but I guess it kinda goes to show they might actually make a difference.

Joke of the day:
Two men are drinking in a bar at the top of the Empire State Building. One turns to the other and says: "You know last week I discovered that if you jump from the top of this building- by the time you fall to the 10th floor, the winds around the building are so intense that they carry you around the building and back into the window." The bartender just shakes his head in disapproval while wiping the bar.
The 2nd Man says: "What are you a nut? There is no way in heck that could happen."
1st Man: "No, it's true let me prove it to you." So he gets up from the bar, jumps over the balcony, and careens to the street below. When he passes the 10th floor, the high wind whips him around the building and back into the 10th floor window and he takes the elevator back up to the bar.
The 2nd Man tells him: "You know I saw that with my own eyes, but that must have been a one time fluke."
1st Man: "No, I'll prove it again" and again he jumps and hurtles toward the street where the 10th floor wind gently carries him around the building and into the window. Once upstairs he urges his fellow drinker to try it.
2nd Man: "Well what the heck, it works, I'll try it." So he jumps over the balcony, plunges downward, passes the 11th, 10th, 9th, 8th floors and hits the sidewalk with a 'splat.'
Back upstairs the Bartender turns to the other drinker:
"You know, Superman, you're a real jerk when you're drunk."

Well, I put the Sylvania silverstar blinkers in my clear corners in the front. It keeps the clear color when they are off but turn orange when lit up. I'm also debating on getting a different sub box. One that will fit under my rear seat. Does anyone know anything about the guys that sell these? They are from lincoln.

The box doesn't look to bad I would just make sure to reseal it myself after I purchased it. They live just down the street from me to they are right off of the interstate. If they would let you just pick it up for less I would say that is a pretty good deal and jump on it.

Steeda, I have a sub box for your year truck I think. I got it free from a guy off Craigslist this past summer. Never used it. It holds 2 10's common space set up. It's made to have a seat lift which you already have. I'll give it to you anytime this weekend. FREE. You could use it as a mock up, or whatever you want. It's covered with tan carpet right now.
