They are average for an 05. I won't have my mirrors until next week some time, then I have to schedule time to get mine swapped out. Shoot me a PM about $$.

No problem, I was just more concerned about cracks or big scratches. I wish I could PM, but I am restricted because I havent been a member for 3 months and have less than 100 posts. If you want you can email or use instanct messaging. Do you use Skype?

Ok bike guru's - need some advice. Went to used bike shop today. He had sold the diamondback this morning. I did look at a Fuji Nevada 2.0 but it is only a 17" frame and was a bit too small for me. It looked pretty nice - was lightweight like the trek I rode. Front suspension looked good. Didn't have disc brakes though. The 1.0 and 3.0 have disc brakes. The guy there said that Fuji bike frames are made in the same factory as trek frames. He wasn't a big trek fan - doesn't like the company. Said if you don't sell enough bikes as a distributor they will close you down or something like that.

So nothing in my size but he could order in a Fuji and told me to check back in a month or so he might be able to get some model-year-end deals. But for the price of this I can get a Trek so.....I think the decision is pretty obvious. Just need to find a used one.

3.0 with disc brakes:

1.0 (Most expensive in this line)

Or maybe someone will just donate $5,400 so I can get this one????

Just found this on CL after posting my above ad:

Forgot to mention on tonight's bike ride I took a new route. Ended up finding a nice little lake that is only 2 miles or so from my house! It's called Killdeer lake. Kind've surprising - didn't even know it existed.

I do wish I lived in a rural area sometimes. So much quieter and less hectic. Looks like a nice place to be by oneself and de-stress.

JD,

I have owned a Trek bikes for years and love mine. They are definitely worth the money if you ride or plan to ride a lot. I highly recommend looking into the 7 series hybrid. I own two,

7.1 FX
http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/road/fx/71fx/

7500 FX
http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...h/hybrid/7500/.

They start at $440 and go up from there. There are two stores in Omaha that sell them and I am sure they have some available now.

Highgear Bicycle Store of Omaha
8610 Brentwood Drive
La Vista, NE 68128
402-935-1988

TREK Bicycle Store of Omaha
7214 Jones Street
Omaha, NE 68114
402-884-1820

Buying a good quality bike is a good investment, especially if you plan doing long rides of 20 miles or more a day and if you plan on riding in any of the events like BRAN or RAGBRAI. I don’t know anything about the Fuji bikes or anyone who owns one, so I cannot comment on their quality. Most of the people who I ride with own Trek, Cannondale, and Bianchi bikes.

The best bike for you is subjective. It just depends on the type of riding you plan on doing, how much money you plan to spend and how the bike fits your height and weight. The best suggestion I can give is find a bike you like based upon size, components, feel, ride-ability, etc, most places will let you ride it before you buy it and find one that works for you.

Nice spot...

In other news, we bought a travel trailer last night. 94 Nomad, 33'.

As I stated earlier, my buddy took his dad's 08 Z71 out to pull it Tuesday.
These guys looked at how little my truck saged and how well it pulled it out, they said bringing that Chevy to pull it was akin to bringing a knife to a gun fight.

I hooked up my truck, and it took it down in the back a little bit. I was impressed with the low end torque pulling it out of the farm place. Only got it up to 50 mph or so, but I can really tell that I'm yanking around over 8k lbs worth of trailer. My trailer brake controller comes in today, we'll pick the camper up and bring it home tomorrow.

Congrats on the camper purchase krohbar! Looks like it will be a good time. Camping is always fun.

I looked at a hybrid bike yesterday at the Used Bike Shop in town here. I don't think that will suffice for my needs as well as I'd like on gravel roads and the little bit off roading that I do. I want the capability to go full off-road and throw it around on some trails eventually.

I also saw a very unique bike I've never seen before when I was there. There was no chain at all. It was powered by a driveshaft - exactly like how a motorcycle with a driveshaft is powered. It was pretty neat. We spun the tire and he shifted through the gears it was so smooth you couldn't even tell the gears were changing. Pretty neat stuff.

sweet looks like a good find congrats

That is a nice little lake Ty, I never knew that was around either. And I think the boz said it well as long as the bike fits and is in your price range then its a good bike for you. There are a lot of good bike manufactures out there now, and all are pretty much the same it just depends on the model and how much money you want to drop. You are not purchasing from walmart so whatever bike you buy will more then likely be worth the money.

It's got a little damage behind that one wheel from a blow out, and the awning canvas is trashed, but that's was about it. Interior was in great shape.
