Does anybody have an in dash DVD player with monitor?

I was thinking about putting a DVD player in my lightning. I was just wondering if anybody had some pictures of their setup. Any info would be great.

don't have any pics...

sorry, I don't have any pics, but I had the Pioneer DVD/TV/CD in my '01. I sold the truck (and the stereo) but it was a sweet setup.

I am not normally a Pioneer fan, but this was the best one on the market.

The alpine has to have two seperate head units in dash, one for DVD playing and one has the actual screen.

The Kenwood is nice and the touch screen is a cool feature, except that when you try to actually watch a movie, you'll have fingerprints all over the place, neat idea very tricky, but not practical or useful, plus there are too many menu screens to click through to do anything.

Get the pioneer, its sweet. They even have a cheaper version on the market now as an option instead of the $2000+ dollar one.

good luck

later,
chris

Kenwood KVT-910DVD

I am very happy with this unit. Most of the time I have playstation hooked up to it so my friends have something to do while cruising. Very cool, I always get compliments on it.

When I got mine over a year ago the list price was $2700 for the DVD/Screen and the brain box, I paid $2300. List price now is down to $2300 so you may find them for less. Also they have a cheaper screen only model available that you can used a portable dvd player or playstation2 and hook into to play movies.

one other thing, the pioneer has a detachable lower faceplate for theft deterent.

later,
chris

P.S. That Kenwood does look sweet though, I didn't know they had a "non touch screen" model out now.
