New KB Blower!

I have been hearing alot about people being concerned about the KB supercharger being placed on a *stock* engine and causing problems for the *stock* internals.. However i believe the KB unit will be even safer and easier on the *stock* internals! Let me explain, the KB unit will make equal amount of power as the *stock* unit at a much (lower) boost level! and with much lower discharge temps! This is therefor much easier on the engine than a blower that has to make more *boost* to achieve the same amount of power. Yes this unit can be used with *pump* gas no problems at all! we just have to keep our boost levels within respectable levels(no more than 15#) IMO. we can turn the blower up to make even more power also!(up to 21#) the KB unit will also have amuch colder air discharge! The *NEW* KB unit will have a new rotor design and a Big Mouth opening which is atleast twice as large as the stock opening! This will produce even more power with the New Intake we'll be selling at a later time......JL

Just so everyone will not be in disbelief, the pic above that JL posted is a drawing that KB gave to him. They ARE developing that blower as we speak. Pretty soon ole JL will be doing some testing for us.

I like the looks of that unit much better than the typical "square" KB design. Damn, yet another mod to put on the list.

yes it is a drawing. i spoke to jim bell today and the update on the blowers looks like 2nd week of sept. thats about 2 weeks behind schedual .. they are machining the front casing of the unit now. also the new unit will be a 2.3 not the 2.0. they did some testing with the 1st unit yesterday and have some serious results! This new unit is smoking the unit i currently have on my truck now! : ) the price will be $2999.99. this will be a *direct* replacement. the blower will bolt up to both the 99-00 & 2001 2002 intakes. and should take the *average* mechanic about 1-2hrs. to remove the stock unit and replace it with the KB...JLP

Expected results?

Running 10psi, how much HP should we expect over a stock blower running 10psi?

The KB on Johnny's truck sounds much like the Eaton, maybe a little different pitch whine. That's gonna be one nasty blower!

2.3 is it a 140? Let me tell ya this is going to be 1 bad Blower! Like i said they tested the 1st unit and the results were simply Amazing! With the new style rotors and design, I can't wait till i get this baby on my truck!
As far as the sound it really has a sound of its own It sounds like a high pitched eaton being spun about 10 times more than what it should! if you want to hear the KB unit i have now i'll be at the pro-street car shootout this weekend @ maplegrove pa. come and hear it for yourself.... JL
