I run 31#s in the exact same tire. The altitude where I live is over 5280, so it seems like plenty.

Question

coopersunc
31 Seems alittle low to me. I use to run like 32-35# in my stock size tires with the 18's. I thought 40# would be good for the 20's. Thanks for the Post though. Anyone else what are you running. Oh yeah and i mean for everyday use not at the track .

Thanks for the heads-up Vin. 31 is what Discount recommended (due to our high altitude) when I bought the tires. I called around a few minutes ago and other Discount stores and an indy Dunlop dealer recommend 35-40.

Off to the compressor and thanks again.

That's alot of air pressure. I have always run 32 in my 15's, 16's, 17's, 18's, and now my 20's. It shouldn't matter, wouldn't it be relative? It just takes more air to pump up more volume to the same pressure. I may be wrong, but 40-51psi seems like a lot.

I wonder what that 4045/ psi = when the tires are hot. And how does that translate to the thread patch hitting the ground?

I wouldn't go much over the 32 psi that is recomended for our trucks with any size tire wheel combo. Maybee with a 20-22 tire I would go 2-4 lbs more, but not more than that.

Remember the psi rating on the side of any tire is the max psi rating, not a recomended rating.
