Damn, thats pretty well said if u ask me. One of my friends has a 2000 ss. It ran a 13.1 at the track on street tires. My truck stock ran a 13.4. On the street though was a diffrent story as I would hand him his A$$ 9 times outta 10! And most f-bodys in my area cant hang with my truck anyways or I just run in to all the people that can't drive!

 

I gotta say that it is pretty funny around where I live. Bay port is a small town surrounded by small towns. My truck draws more attention than almost all the cars. At the track, I get my a** waxed quite a bit, but I also wax quite a few. There is nothing better than kicking the snot out of a car in a race, be it on the street or at the track. And it doesn't have to be any specific brand either. My first kill was a Mustang GT that had no clue until I put about 7 or 8 links on him from a role. Funny as ***** because the 2 girls with him drooled over the truck when we got done racing. It was great!!

 

I agree the SS/WS6 are fast cars, no doubt, but this is the exact reason I won't buy a GM product. I have owned them in the past and each and every one was a piece of crap. The ONLY Chevy I would buy right now is a Z06, and that is just because it is the top of the food chain and cool as hell.
I have two very good friends who have SS's, they are fast, but both have had major problems, and they aren't even daily drivers, they both have take home cruisers and drive the SS's a few times a week, if that.
I have owned nothing but Ford's since 1996. Granted, I have had minor problems with most of them, but no where near the number of problems and they are not major mechanical problems, just simple little things.
We have had this discussion several times in the past, it all comes down to personal needs, preference, and expectations.
