who takes their L in the rain/snow?

Hey...didnt mean to flare any tempers...Just stating the facts. I have never and will never buy snow tires. All my cobras and mustangs along with the L have had performance tires on them all year around...be it F1's or Pirelli P-Zeros's. You just have to drive it very carefully(dont spin while taking off) Back in 93-94 when we had the big 18 inches of snow here and they shut down all roads for 3 days I left to travel back to Ft. Campbell Kentucky while pushing through 5+ inches on the roads with the front bumper of my 93 Cobra. It took 9 hours to get there going 35-40 mph but the Cobra had no problem with traction. I have yet seen the need for snow tires when i havent gotten stuck yet thats all.
I'm with Little Orphan Annie (jk) on this one: I bought my truck new in October 2000 and have driven it every day since. I guess I'm like a postal worker, "weather (pun intended, unfortunately) rain, or snow, or..."- you get the picture. And I also have never, nor do I plan to ever put snow tires on this truck. Granted, you have to do a little more corrective steering than when its dry out (not much more than when its wet out though to tell you the truth), but thats half the fun of it. EVEN if i did have a beater car, I still can't think of one day out of the year (in Massachusetts) when I would even want to drive it...I would be the polar opposite of most of the guys here...the beater would sit in the driveway and my L would driven everyday! And for those skeptics out there, the F1's actually handle the snow reasonalby well (not so much in going, but in braking and steering). Further more, the F1's I had on the back last year handle the snow twice as well as the Toyo Proxes S/T's I have on there now (but I still like them more than F1's all around).
The Lightning is a truck...granted, its a fast truck, but its still a truck.
If you start babying it now, it will grow up to like the color pink (...and ultimately will have bulldogs on its doors...or something).

hold on
hope nobody took anything the wrong way.... not intended. But there' no way my truck would have gotten up my hill tonight with F1's on.... (i'm stubborn) hahaha. Especially a day like today when it snows, streets are cleared, and the moisture freezes....like trying to drive across center ice at the fleet center...hehe. The only reason i decided to get my L was because I moved closer to work. There were times when driving to work were a bitch in my broncos and explorer driving up rt 1... lightning wouldn't have made it. My idea of babying the truck is so it's not wrapped around a pole. To tell you the truth, I'm more scared of someone hitting me..... You are right though, driving in the snow is a required skill, and lord knows many never acquire it......Just my opinion.
