who takes their L in the rain/snow?

Just curious how many of you run your trucks in the rain. And was wondering if ANY of you in the northern states drive them yearound in the snow? And for those of you that wont drive them in the rain, why not? I know a guy with a indy ram that runs 13s in the 1/4 and he wont use his truck in the rain.

Well considering that the L is my only car I drive it in anything. Runs good all the time.

It's a truck for god's sake. Hell yes I drive in the rain, snow, whatever comes along. Ford builds a new one almost everyday.

OK in the wet...bad in the snow. Believe what the sticker in the door post says about driving in the snow.

No don't drive it in the rain or snow. Why don't I drive it in the rain? Easy, because I don't have to. I have other vehicles to choose from. The fun of driving the L is "running it" and I wouldn't do that in the rain anyway. Besides that makes cleanup so much easier.

Mine's only seen a wet road once when I got caught in a downpour. Took a few hours to clean the chassis but is cleaner than new now. Beating is what my reliable '96 Cavalier is for.

I hadve driven in the rain a few times, but i will not have to drive in the snow now, The reason is because I want it to stay nice for as long as possible. I do not have to wash it as much, and I also have a 1996 firebird to drive in bad weather.

Everyday driver here as well. This will be her 3rd winter that I have driven it. I sometimes feel guilty about it, but I figure I may as well enjoy it while I have it.

I don't drive my L very often in the snow, but I have to because we have snow on the ground from October to early May. I have about 12 sandbags in the back and that helps a lot. I have the hardest time getting started at stop signs... I usually just roll through them. When I bought my L in September, I told myself that I would not drive it when the roads were icy, but if I don't drive it then I go into withdrawals or something.

My truck has never been in the rain and we don't worry about snow in S. Tx. I bought a '00 Contour at the same time I bought the L, so it could be my daily driver. L only goes out when it sunny. Even so, I put on about 800 miles per month.

Garage queen here ('01 Sliver L - 3964 of 4966). Only goes out under sunny, clear days. Got caught in the rain ONCE on the way to the strip.

ITs a Truck

Hey...I bought this truck for a work vehicle....so...yes..I have to drive it in all weather. We just had a little snow storm ( 6 in.) The L handled beautifully. I mean....i think that driving in the snow is a talent. All I need is a full tank of gas for the little extra weight, but I never put anything in the bed for weight. Plus I usually dont leave work until around 2 A.M. , and thats just perfect conditions for the ice to freeze...and also before the salt trucks get out. All this crap about snow tires...BS to me I have driven Cobra's and Mustangs for years in the snow.....and havent had a single accident or problems with traction...again....I think that it all depends on the drivers abilities.
I mean we arent talking about a $200,000 Ferrari here...it is a sport truck but basically an F-150 4x2 with a suspension and appearance package and a Supercharger. Hope this doesnt flame anyone...Cause i love my L ....just that I treat it like a truck....but I also pamper it every second I get the chance.
