Unhappy Warranty Voided

Just got my truck towed back from the dealership. I need a new head and they voided my warranty saying I was pushing too much boost! I don't know what to do! Any suggestions on heads? I may have to sale the truck!

Well I personally think its your own fault. Not to harp on you, but you should have know that those stock plugs would screw up your truck with extra boost and a chip.

You going to have to fix the head or get a new one no matter what so you can sell it. Call up this place and se what they can do for you. Ask for Paul. www.SCperformance.com They do head work for our trucks so they maybe be able to just fix the head.

This is almost a blessing if you think about it, now you have to pull your motor apart! You might aswell get some new rods an pistons while your in there, then you'll have some tough CHIT!

Low_redl, If you can explain a little about what happened. Valves, spark plug blew out, what happened? Thanks.

RTKILLA, how do you know from the post that he was running stock plugs? Stock plugs with extra boost doesn't automatically mean anything.

awhittle, going to the dealer with the pcm contacts scraped and no mods can equal a voided warranty.

ONCE AGAIN!!! STOCK PLUGS ARE FOR STOCK TRUCKS ONLY!!!

Everyone really needs to remember this!! Stock plugs with added boost are a big nono. You are asking for trouble.

Low,

Take your truck home, get it stock and take it to another dealership. It dosent hurt to try....

I guess the edit feature is broken...

I went back and read a couple of your posts. Another sparkplug blows. This is a common problem for the 5.4's. They should fix it.

I would call your states attorney general and the FTC. You need to make a formal complaint about Ford Motor Company voiding your warranty for something like this. This is a fairly common problem. When my L blew a plug the mechanics said they had seen the problem before, but never on a Lightning. I just filed a FOIA request from the FTC to see how many complaints there are against FMC voiding warranties. We need to do something about Ford pushing us around on these warranty concerns. Remember that FMC has the burdon of proving that the damage to your truck was caused by an aftermarket part

to file a FTC complaint follow this link.

ICULOKN, I don't mean to sound rude. Stock plugs work fine in a modded truck.
In fact to prove my point wasn't it Bubbalightning who ran stock plugs and 5.5#'s of boost. When the connecting rod broke in his engine that was the only thing wrong with the truck. The plugs, pistons, and valves were all in excellent condition. The stock plugs outlasted his engine.

Back to my point as usual this is what happenes when you bring a modified truck into the dealer. Sorry about what happened. You can try to contact Ford and fight it but judging what has happened to most people in here it looks like your s-o-l. Also Ford reads these boards so i would be very carefull what you post if you decide to pursue legal action.

Puddin,

Can you attach a larger picture of you truck. It looks sharp, but it's really small.

So what do you do when you get fired? throw a party.
What do you do when the dealer voids the warranty? build a monster and don't look back. There's no stopping you now. Good luck. R/S Dennis
