Angry Spark Plug problems

I pulled out of Lowe's today and started my truck up. It ran fine for the first half a mile or so and then all of a sudden something really screwed up! I pulled over and started looking stuff over and I couldn't find anything. So I started it back up and took off and everything was fine for awhile. All of a sudden I heard a boom and something flew from inside the engine and hit the hood. My spark plug somehow loosened up and blew out. once again back at the dealership. I don't know what in the hell happened

Which plug was it? Stock plugs? Ever checked them before?

They were the stock plugs. I just bought some a couple of days ago to change, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm not for sure what plug actually blew out, b/c it was dusk whenever it happened. I've got 30,000 miles on my truck.

Not trying to scare you, but from other reports on this board you may have to have a new head installed. Hope it works out for you.

I just talked to Midway Ford and they said i'm going to have to get a new head installed! That's horrible! I think i'm going to put the new head on and sale the truck. I love it, but I've had too many problems out of it. I need something more reliable.

Unhappy

Terry,

Yes, you've had EVERY "classic" problem. And I don't know why really, because you take such good care of it. I'm still on my original intercooler at 5k miles past your stock one when we first met and I think you're on your 3rd and hopefully final (because it's revised) one. Not to mention your cracked doors, foglights, failed transmission, and now the infamous spark plug blowout....etc you've had to deal with. My only problem has been a failed O/D lockout that I still haven't fixed yet. Let me know if I can help you out somehow.

Jim
