i have to disagree stock for stock that the l would cream the cobra, especially a slightly modded one, my buddies is what i would call slightly modded, like 5 bolt ons, and he runs 12.0's

4.56's alone is enough for 12's,

Your right there, Beefcake. gears can give an advantage. Reports will tell you that even the 02 Cobra couldn,t match the performance of the Lightning.A few of the mags( even fast Fords/Muscle mustangs) couldn't get the Cobra to match the performance of the L.And the 02 is the most powerful one in production history.Anyway I'm tired of this ..what say we agree that Cobras and lightning are both great performers and move on.

Talking

There actually called "Load Bearing" dynos, mostly Mustang Dynos and some of the newer Dyno jet's are also load bearing....I don't care if you surf the net or not, its comments like you made that just make no sense....By the way, the SLOW 99 Cobras as you call it, are actually the FASTEST Bolt On Cobras out there, from 96-01.....Bob Cosby is in the 11's with No long tubes, stock mass air, no tubular k member, etc....Ian Mullane, beef's buddy, is also there as well.....When you ACTUALLY Race and go to the NMRA or FFW events and see what the modular cars actually run, then you have a place to compare a 4900lbs Brick to a Car.....T trim, tw heads, blah blah, been there done that....mid 10's from a 5.0 based motor is nothing these days....

Both the L and the Cobra are nice cars but don't read and believe everything you see in Road and Track and MM&FF....Last time I looked we weren't magazine racing....

Have a Happy Holiday and try not to pick on the Cobras out there, as you will get beat on the highway

Trailer Queen Beef??? What's wrong with Trailers??? Bwwwaaaaa!!! LOL....Speaking of that, you still have your open trailer???

Jeff

1/4 mile, it's going to be close, the l will have the advantage because of the auto.

on the highway though, stock for stock, the cobra will pull the l,

like i said, with my 4lb lower and chip, a 13.0 cobra pulled me from 75 to 80 every time, and i ran 12.7's in that same trim.

I tore ian up on street tires from a stop on the street, but every time we ran from a roll, he pulled me

jeff, trailer is gone

OK guys... let's calm down in here. I will try and find that guy again by asking around tonight when I go out to the local hotrod and pork fried rice hangout. Someone there will have to know about this Proharged Cobra....

Anyway... I didn't know that Cobras were supposed to be faster. Maybe we should start a new thread...

Gotta say it...

If the board moderator can close a thread that was anti-street racing, then this thread, which advocates street racing should also be closed.

Rapier,
Beefcake and Mondo1's post's are "L" related. Go be a "Mother against street racing" on another board. Were all adults here. Were not little children that need preacher's to get on here and tell us what to talk about! We know we are accountable for what we do in life.....

They are not advocating street racing. I don't see them posting anywhere telling people to do it! Take your sensorship else where!

Jeff-

There is a big difference between a mustang load bearing dyno and an Eddy Current low inertia dyno (that is the correct name for it) If you do a search on it you can learn about it.I don't know about you..but in my book a 10 second anything is a fast street car.Happy holidays to you and be afraid of the L...be very afraid!

All adults here? If this was the case, then some folks, like the original poster and yourself (for supporting street racing by apathy, if nothing else) would be outraged by his admission that he and the Porsche got to 115 MPH.

And while I detest street racing (but you knew this), I abhor the actions of the moderator to continue to support street racing by allowing this kind of thread when anti-street racing threads are closed because they're deemed "too controversial". Double standards really tick me off.

Hey Beefcake,
Post that kill. lol. I'd like to read about it. Rapier needs to take his HIGH performance V6 F150 to another board. Rapier, You do understand you are on a Board that is dedicated to Lightning enthusiast's. "RIGHT"

Here, most people have raced on the street and even hit the 140mph mark on the speedo. Didn't see you preaching on that thread. Were not here to be judged or told not to do it. Keep your non-L subjects and opinions to personal e-mail. I'm here to share my enthusiasm for the Lightning. If you have something to say that pertains to the Lightning, mods, technical advise or personal experience with driving one. I'm fine with that!

But, if you want to be "MOTHER DUCK" Take your cry baby A$$ outa here. I don't get into peoples ***** on here, but you and a few that look to bring news on this board that is related to death are real downers. People like you really pi$$ me off pushing your opinion openly and knowing many on here have raced on the street.

People on here have been talking about street racing long before you got on here. Now you want to change it and have the moderator enforce sensorship on topics related to L's street racing the competition. The other thread was closed because it had no reason to be on this board in the first place. You say it's was too controversial. Not true.

It had nothing to do with Lightnings!! Get it?

If i want to read about car crashes and death i'll go to the source and not bring it on this board.!!

You have a problem with the moderator here. Send an e-mail. Go to BON on the cobra board and tell everyone what you think about street racing! I bet they'll tell you where to stick it!

Glad to hear that

Hey Thor01, I agree with your piece...keep the boards clean of non L related issues. Even the "Happy Holiday" post. If they are gonna remove one post for non L related subject , might as well remove them all. Bah Humbug..LOL.

The Orphaner,
Thanks for the support. I think the moderator does a fine job on here. I never got on other people posting non-L related issues before. This stems from another thread when a few pi$$ed me off labeling people with names and saying this board was advocating racing on the street.

I'm not here to debate what is right and wrong. I'm hear to talk about Lightnings. That's all. It's unfortunate that people do get killed by drunk drivers, street racing or at a race track. But it happens and we know it happens. We don't need to be reminded of it. This isn't the bad news board.
