tallimeca, i'm not saying i like the s/c motor in the harley in the first place. I would rather have the regular 5.4 in the harley like my 2000 hd has. too much gas. and secondly, i'm not complaining in this forum, just making some points. and i'm not talking ***** on the L owners who arent jacka$$es and bring up irrevalent and stupid *****. And i can guarantee sovich's bolt isn't worth more than my hd. I bought it for 33k in july of 00 and in august i went back to the dealers for a little touch up, and they offered me 40k on the spot to buy the hd back. I also found out from a friend that was looking for a hd around september of 00 that dealers were charging 50-55k for the hd's and it was hard to find one for msrp. The price right now might have dropped slightly, but in a few years when the hd series ends i can guarantee you it'll be right back up there. especially for the first year truck and being a very early production number.

 

Come to NY, you can get them anywhere for below msrp. There was 2 siting on the lot when I picked up my L.

 

As someone who has bought L's, Cobra's, Vettes, and WS6's,

If you pay anymore than $500 over invoice you are a sucker.

The only time I pay that much is if i am tired and want to go home.

In 99 i bought my wife one of the new celica's, some dealerships were selling for 2k over msrp,

i got mine for 200 over invoice, you have to know how to deal and be prepared to walk away, actually, that deal i made over the phone!

Not Flaming... I would have joined earlier but have been away.

I know how the lightning guys feel. It's just like some of us Harley owners feel when someone asks about getting our rims to put on their truck. SOme of us take offense. I know I do. But in this case thier nothing we can do about Ford putting on a SC in the HD. Except be happy. It's to late know to change and whats done is done. No point crying over spilled milk. Be happy that there other quick fords out there that look as nice as your trucks.

 

kidd2001, i know that you can get a 00 harley now for around 27k, and to beefcake, i paid msrp for my truck, if they charged me more, it wasn't worth getting. and to the a$$hole 2kL, i started that post in the hd forum just to let people know that *******ers like you are putting down the harleys and just being a plain a$$. And i'm not busting on the L owners, but there are a FEW people in here that are plain a$$es and just wanna start trouble. and to BfB and kidd2001, the dealer did offer me 40k for my truck a month after we got it. I don't know how it is in other areas, but in jersey, these truck were in demand and they sold out quickly so dealers were trying to sucker some stupid people into 10-20k over sticker, and i doubt if many, if any people fell for it. i dont' really give a ***** if you believe me or not, cuz i dont' have anything to prove to a$$es like you. LowRiderHD2000 makes a good point, somewhat like i've tried to get across to the few thickheaded dumba$$es in here, but i didn't start posting in here to start a L vs HD war, this website shouldn't be for people to start *****, i just wanted to make a couple points and people twist your words into other crap and start becoming enemies instead of helpful friends.

 

1. I never said anything bad about the HD F150.
2. I believe that you were an a$$ in the earlier forum i linked to about the wheels.
3. There are several ways to conduct yourself on this forum..usually i am not that vocal about things like this, but seeing as how you were insistent upon stirring the pot even farther in this post i voiced my opinion. If you don't like it too...bad...many of us don't like your whining but we have no choice but to listen to it.

So why don't you go take a ride in your 40k HD, and chill out...and try to act normal instead of always trying to insite a flame war...

There was a thread similar to this a couple of months ago.
I don't understand why the Lightning owners would be threatened by a supercharged HD. The trucks are brothers. I would think it was the coolest thing if a S/C HD parked next to me at the track. Secondly the only way a S/C HD will out run a modded L is if the owner spends big $. Anything can go fast with big $, so who cares.

This is like the Cobra guys getting mad because Ford put the 4.6 DOHC in the Mercury Marauder. One is a sports coupe, the other is a sporty luxury sedan.

Am I missing something here?

I also got offered over sticker price a few weeks after buying my HD. They were offering me 10000 cdn over sticker price for my truck. I was down there shopping for the stang and they said they were looking all over for more 2000.

 

2kl, i guess you didn't read when i said that i didn't want to start a war between the L and hd's. and 2002Lightning is right, why should you be threatened by a supercharged HD, you guys are faster and lighter. we are brother trucks as i said towards the beginning of this post and as 2002L also said. we should be able to get along somewhat. and sovich i didn't start the harley forum to complain about you guys. Just making the other hd owners aware about this forum cuz it has to do with the harleys also. wasn't complaining, i could care less if you sell your L's. complain all you want, i just started posting in here to point out some facts, and have a little fun. and i just thought you might wanna check out this link, http://www.f150world.com/news/24vehicles.asp its got the black wood pegasus with a supercharged 5.4L with 475hp. I Know its just a concept, but maybe they'll give you guys that engine next year.
