Alright, maybe some one can clue me in on something here. These last 2 weeks I noticed a slight ticking sound coming through the fire wall on the driver's side..the rate of the ticking follows the throttle increase.... I was also hearing some sort of "air" sound that I thought was my A/C at the time..I turned off the A/C and its still makes the sound.

I noticed the "air" sound goes away when the truck shifts into 3rd. Both sounds are audiable at a stand still.

So anyhow, this morining I checked the fire wall plug. It was out of the hole in the fire wall... I jammed it back in there and now I dont hear the sounds... do you guys think that its nothing? or should I have my plugs checked...my warranty is gone now that I hit 36k miles this month..so 3400 bux for a new head isnt going to fit into my budget very well. What do you guys think?
i hear a ticking too, i tink its just injectors, im pretty sure if you blow a plug its LOUD

I blew #8 (last one back on drivers side) about a month and 1/2 ago. Blew under normal drining conditions at about 75 mph down the highway---no boost--. 2000 l with 32k miles. Heli coiled it replaced the coil pack so far so good.

Well I put my head under the hood before I drove home yesterday, and the clicking is coming from around ALL the coil packs, so Im guessing its nothing.. no way all my plugs are loose.

Third plug (from the front to rear) passenger side #5?? Blew at 130 MPH with 9 Lbs of boost, scared the s**t out of me! Had no idea what had happened, then on the way home, ran in to another lighting, he staged wanted to run but then heard the Pow, Pow, Pow and left! Truck had 19,000 miles, dealer replace the head with another 2001 (three treads) head.
