( Hey Steven, relax, there is a very saphisticated level of humor that goes on here between those of us who have been here awhile. Hang around and watch, its great sport!)
Look if Apple Dumplin Ford doesn't want to fix your truck if you mod it, tell them to go screw themselves. There are plenty of dealerships that will. Find some other L owners in your area and they will tell you where to go. Almost all Ls sold are modded and most are raced. What the hell do you think people buy them for. Ya sure sometimes they break, but Ford is fixing them most of the time because its good business to fix them. These trucks are the highest profit margin vehicle ford makes. They can replace a few engines and transmissions and still make plenty of money and its a kick butt vehicle. They sure can's say that about the doggy mustang. And everybody in the GM camp is just rasing hell because they take their brand new $60,000 corvette to the drag strip and get the doors blown off by a FORD PICKUP TRUCK! Have fun and don't wreck it.

Humm first it was real specific info that one of the trucks was in with a voided warrenty because it had a pulley that didnt have the support bracket and you said caused a problem with the crank. Then you said one was in there becasue it had a leaky intercooler and was getting warrenty work done. Hummm but now it is that one had a blown-up blower because of grinding and the other 2 were in there for security reasons. So which one is it ?? You got 2 different stories and in your first one you go bashing pullies that have no bracket but its funny that you said you dont know who the tuners were but you seem to talk about JDM and you talked about him in the valve body post to. And whos pulley has the support bracket humm i wonder who?? Anyone whos been on this board knows there hasnt been one case of the pulleys with no cage messing the crank up at least none that i know of. Just seems funny to me that in your first story you made it a point to point out a pulley with no support bracket caused a problem and then in your second story you change it to something with a blown-up blower from grinding and the other 2 trucks were put in for security. So what story will you have next post one of the trucks was there for the recalled wiper motor or seat belt??

All I can do is tell you what I saw and what I was told. I dont think I will spend anymore time on this site.. their seems to be too many people that have attitudes, and I thought most of you guys would help out and not try to pick my posts apart.
I did not come here to defend myself on everything I say, I came here because of the sites title F150online, I guess it should be called "lets fight"online-----------------------
Yes, the JDM site is very informative and has a great topic about the shift kit valve thing, that is where I got my original information. Info is what I am looking for considering I have no idea about what this truck is capable of or what to do with it,but I guess I am gonna get flack here for mentioning someone else.
and looking thru the history of this site, I see that the guy that gave me crap to begin with, spiro, was supposed to leave and sell his truck or something.. seems like he hangs around to bash new people------------ if that keeps up, there will be 4 or 5 of you around to talk to eachother.... My son wants to watch the MTV awards, so I gotta go.. Steven

First your loss of great info on this site if you decide not to come here anymore. Second you make no sense you have one story of what was wrong with the trucks, then you have a second story and now you post that you can only tell us what you saw. Well didnt you say that this "supposed" salesman was giving you a tour and telling you what was wrong with them? Sorry you make no sense and i think i know where you got your name from now. You must be looking for your other personality named joe because everytime you post you got a new story.

To Doug, who responded to me and gave me the advice about posting and sitting back and looking at this board to see what direction it goes, This is why I am leaving for good, people like badazz------------
I sit here with my 4 year old and try to tell him how things are in life and to treat people with respect and to make sure you educate yourself about something before opening your mouth, now I have to tell him that there are people out there that wont respect you for who you are and arent mature about it-------
I am not a salesman, nor do I have any affiliation with any vendor, I just believe in doing it right the first time, no matter what that first time is, im my case it happens to be owning my new Lightning and wondering about modifying it, and what happens if I do.
In my research I have seen 3-4 "tuners" that make parts and accesories for this truck, and out of those only one keeps the stock cage/crank support bracket for the lower pulley. Why does one do it and not the others is my question to you guys??? In my line of work, I need to get all the info I can, to help my client, but here it seems that it is easier to "bolt on" a lower pulley and bash the other guy that makes you use the stock setup, again, my question to you is "why did Ford put it there in the first place? and why do all the other"tuners" throw it away?? If I dont need to use it then fine, I wont, but tell me why it is there to begin with and who has done the research to prove it wont hurt my engine, or any other part (chip,Filter, intake) for that matter..
Nobody answers my questions, just gives me **** and treats a fellow L owner like dirt..
I usually dont get this mad, but this was supposed to be an informative place to come, and all it has added up to is a pissing contest..
What a shame. Raising a 4 year old is easier than dealing with some of you children...... bye bye..... Steven G

Wheredidjoego, this is a great question to ask:
", my question to you is "why did Ford put it there in the first place? and why do all the other"tuners" throw it away?? If I dont need to use it then fine, I wont, but tell me why it is there to begin with and who has done the research to prove it wont hurt my engine, or any other part (chip,Filter, intake) for that matter.. "
The problem is that you didn't come here and ask that question, you came here and said this:
"when I was in the shop I saw 3 lightnings there for engine work, but the only one that was covered under warranty was one with an innercooler,(or something) type of leak. The other two were what the tech called "ford voids" and they were not covered because they had been modified with other parts....
What he said to me was that the two Lightnings that were not covered under warranty must have had an aftermarket pulley for the blower put on the end of the crankshaft without a support or something. (how can you support something that is spinning?? ).. anyway.. He said it wiped out the thrust washers or shims and that the engine lost oil pressure and locked up.."
First of all, between JL and myself, there are probably over a thousand people running the cageless pulley. Nobody has ever had any problems with it, and now you are trying to tell us that ONE dealer has TWO trucks with cageless pulley related problems. Second of all, there's no way that the cageless pulley would wipe out the thrust bearing. And there is no way that the engine would lose oil pressure and lock up.
Then after you were spotted as possibly having an alterior motive here, you plead your innocence and then make this statement:
"Is the pulley that everyone talkes about the one that wiggles when the truck is running? I cant figure out why that would make a differnence, the bracket that is holding it seems to be pretty simple... "
The only pulleys that wiggle are ones that are not installed correctly.
I think the main problem here is that you are trying TOO hard to sound innocent and people are seeing right through it. The stuff you are saying here on this board, is stuff that has been said on the JDM site, and while those guys over there may believe it, the guys over here know BS when they hear it.
If you truely are just a regular "Joe" legitimately looking for good information, then you have come to the right place. But you may want to try asking the questions first before you throw out untrue answers.
As for you question about the pulleys, that topic has been covered MANY times, and I have made extremely detialed posts about the subject. I'm sure you can find them with a search.
