Does anyone on this board have a truck in for service with those problems in that area ? Whose pulley?

 

Let's see, we have a bunch of conspiracy theory advocates; Spiro thinks Sal took a shot at him; noelvm is pissed because Spiro is trying to steal hi a-hole title; a picture of a little rascals type dog in the front seat of a rod; and, Speedin' Bob rolls out one of the funniest cracks I've ever read (writing abilities of one of the more famous or infamous contributors to this board. Surely MRBBQMAN has some hilarious smack to add.

It's little gems like this that keep me coming back.

BTW - I support JDM and I'll be the first to say that the guy that started this is a ringer and we ought to get the tar and feathers ready. No way that scenario he lays out occurred.

Either way, this guy sounds fishy to me, My dealer in orland park is the biggest ford dealer in illinois and I'm sure there might be one bigger, but not to many. My point is that they would never have 3 L's in for service, cause there only one guy who knows what the hell he's doing. Not to many of them do.

Come on guys lets get real now, These 5.4 blocks are some tuff motors that can handle some abuse on the crank. I've had my blower strap down tighter then a 18 year old playmate and its OK. When I say tight, imagine trying to move your blower belt and only being able to twist it about 1/8 of an inch. IT SIMPLE DOESN'T MOVE!!!! Anyway, there no way that with these chitty stock belt tensionoirs on this truck that this PSP or JL lower pulley is going to hurt anything that bad! there just no way in hell!

Hey KILLA, If these blocks are so stiff then why will the 02 block be stiffer. Thats right theres a new stiffer block for the 02L. You heard it here first.

Well I'm safe on the pics. Sals chip came in today and JDMs new chip was mailed last Friday. I'm good until I need a reburn. Should be able to do a BIG CHIP SHOOTOUT tomorrow at my track. Let the chips fall where they may.

The dealership is very big and has over 25 service bays with 4 SVT certified technicians. It is Apple Ford , and most of what they do it trucks.
The tour of the service area was supposed to get me aquanted with where to drop it off for my first service (for free) and I think they were trying to impress me with the size of the shop. It is very large, but when I noticed a very ragged out looking Lightning in the shop, i asked if it was in for service, and the guy told me that people like racing these trucks and doing things to them to make them faster which will void my warranty. I think he was trying to scare me. The other two were inside the shop because they said they put them in at night for security reasons. One of them didnt have a blown up motor, it had a blown up blower because somebody did some grinding somwhere on it, what is that all about, Is someone trying to grind off the SVT or something? is there a serial number on it?

And now I read on this board and others about innercooler leaks that are very common on these trucks, so I called my dealer and asked if they knew about it and they said yes, but not to worry on my 2001 model because it is updated, so I guess engine failures can be caused by innercoolers now.. which is weird because my friends eclipse has an innercooler and all it does is cool the air, I cant figure out how it kills an engine, but I guess I will get some help here to understand.

From what i have read in this topic, I guess there are some problems with people getting along. I didnt know I would start such a mess. I am only asking because I dont know jack about cars or trucks, I take them to get worked on and that is about it.

I just dont want to get screwed by the dealer if I do something to this truck to make it better or faster. And I didnt know my profile was that important to some of you. I really dont trust sending info on the internet. you knever know who is gonna use it. Steven Gomez
